Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has again declared an interest in buying Arsenal. Dangote boasts a net worth of more than £8.5billion and made his fortune after founding Dangote Cement, Africa's largest cement producer - with the 62-year-old also owning stakes in publicly-traded salt, sugar and flour manufacturing companies. He had promised a takeover bid in 2020, but with his Dangote Refinery - set to be one of the world's largest oil refineries - still in construction, he has moved the date back. "It is a team that yes I would like to buy some day, but what I keep saying is we have $20billion worth of projects and that's what I really want to concentrate on," Dangote told the David Rubenstein Show. "I'm trying to finish building the company and then after we finish, maybe some time in 2021 we can. "I'm not buying Arsenal right now, I'm buying Arsenal when I finish all these projects, because I'm trying to take the company to the next level." |

Why is it that out of those invited to our Youth tournaments it is those that were not invited that are excelling? |

ChrisKels:Terem Moffi, striker, move to Belgium.. Never invited by Aigbogun. Instead we had Tijani who is/was a terrible footballer. |

tbaba1234:Who are these players that never played in a year that made the cut? U would have cried blue murder if this same Osaze had been picked, considering he was then released by a league2 club before he trialed with Wednesday |

ChrisKels:How good was Tijani who played for the under 20? Tijani has no record compared to Terem. It is under 20, you are supposed to look for talents. I actually knew more about Terem than Tijani. The first time, i heard of Tijani was in Aigbogun camp. Terem had 20 goals in 31 games in a low league but Tijani was doing nothing in a low league. Tijani has 0 goals after 12 games this season. |

charlesemeka85:Damne that was too petty from someone like him who ought to know better. For fvck's sake, would he have been raving about them, if they hadn't made this little breakthrough, which we don't even know if it's gonna stand the test of time? Did he for once write about any of the two here before? |

ChrisKels:Nwakali had no games in a year before going to play Olympics qualifiers in Egypt. For Osaze to be playing at this level so quickly. There was talent. We played the under 20 world cup with one of the worst set of talents, at that level. At under 20 level, Aigbogun dropped him and our worst position was arguably the right back. Ebere Eze was released by multiple clubs, Ejaria was released by Arsenal. Getting released does not mean a player is bad. Ejaria was released and Liverpool snapped him up. |

tbaba1234:U talking about same Moffi that was clubless until he joined Riteraia in February 2019? Barely 3months before the tourney? In a but shell, he was clubless before the camping. Is that the kinda players u wouldda selected if u were at the helm? |

Following on from our assessment of Steven Davis, next under the microscope in our series of Rangers Half-Term Reports, is Joe Aribo. The Gers signed Aribo for a bargain fee of around £300,000 from Charlton Athletic in the summer, despite the protests of bitter Addicks manager, Lee Bowyer, who felt the 23-year-old wouldn’t develop in Scotland [Daily Record]. How wrong he was. Initially, against relatively weak opposition in Europa League Qualifiers and in the League Cup, the new signing stood out in central midfield. He was clearly confident on the ball and had an eye for goal, netting four times in his first eight competitive appearances. However, when his first big test came in the Old Firm at Ibrox in September, he struggled. Played slightly out of position on the left side, he failed to adapt to the physicality of the game and the intensity of the atmosphere and was subbed off in the second half. At club level, his confidence appeared to take a bit of a knock after that and he was criticised by some supporters. The goals dried up and he struggled for starts with Kamara, Davis and Jack running the midfield. The 23-year-old failed to have an impact on his first Old Firm match in September. (Photo by Mark Runnacles/Getty Images) In late October, though, he returned to form with an influential display at Ross County, and ten days later, he scored at Livingston. Should Rangers enter the transfer market to turn up title pressure? Then came the decision to move him into the attacking right slot. With the likes of Sheyi Ojo and Scott Arfield struggling to contribute, Gerrard looked to solve what had been a problematic position, by giving his summer signing a creative license. He hasn’t looked back since. Excellent performances against Young Boys and Hibernian preceded a much improved Old Firm display on 29th December. Aribo goes to skip past a defender during a highly accomplished display against Young Boys. (Photo by MB Media/Getty Images) Seemingly much more comfortable in this advanced role, Aribo has looked to take on defenders and create opportunities, while still working hard defensively when required. In total, he’s made a whopping 32 appearances, scoring six times and registering seven assists [Transfermarkt]. There’s room for improvement there, but it’s certainly a good effort when trying to find your feet at a new club. The ex-Charlton man joined the club as a talented but raw midfielder, seeking a new challenge. After just a few months in Scotland, he’s become an established international with Nigeria and is now blossoming into a key performer for a team who are looking to make waves both on the domestic and European scene. Half-Term Grade: B |

ChrisKels:Someone talked about players who were not invited doing well. You asked for one example and i gave you one. That is the genesis of this conversation. The fact is that we have players who perhaps could have added value ignored is a problem. Maybe, we need a better scouting program to identify young talents doing well. I am not paid to scout Nigerian prospects. That is the coaches job. And the coach ended up with Tijani as the best Nigerian striker at under 20 level. |

ChrisKels:Terem was playing actively between March and May.. And scoring goals too. And what was Tijani doing at the same time?? Based on that criteria, Tijani should never have been invited. |

ChrisKels:I simply gave you an example of a player who was not invited and has progressed just as you asked. I feel Osaze could have made that under 20 side that was so obviously bereft of quality. If Tijani was not the striker we ended up with, the argument against Moffi would be valid. |
