Wasting scarce resources on a dead factory. Is that money not enough to build a brand new and manageable steel factory? .... The leaders are really cursed beyond redemption.

Abeg Buhari is the man of the year already right from January

grin grin

But APC in d first tenure of this administration, had said buhari had brought ajaokuta back to life. Y d need for another $1.5b?

Secondly, d topic doesn't say ajaokuta has been completed. It is a promise similar to when they said in 2015 that d refineries will b ready in 2016, then 2017, then 2018 and finally in 2019. Here we are in 2020. Refineries are still not ready

OBJ made a lot of noise back then too,
I believe Baba will finally do something about it.
The problem back then was that all those money that were suppose to revived those companies are being embezzled.,
Yet they don't want to borrow to revived the companies.
Buhari is setting a good standard, whoever succeeds him should follow on in his path, else trouble awaits he/she,cos people are now much more enlightened and interested in what is going on in government, unlike before.

Y wasn't baba able to revive d refineries as promised?

Already installed equipment was being tested then as part of the work assessment while plans for completion were in top gear.

The commitments by Russia and Nexim have already been put in writing and endorsed so the next stage is work completion.

This one is 100% reality much like most of Buharis projects unlike one Òtuòke drunkard we know and one Papa deceiving pikin party we used to know

In Ajaokuta, literally or metaphorically, lies our industrial and technological breakthrough. Metallurgy is a strategic sector in every developed economy.

In the early eras, if a nation conquered another nation and wanted to make sure that the conquered nation remains subjugated under its vassalage, IT IMMEDIATELY BANISHES THE PROFESSION OF BLACKSMITHING. It hasn't changed much even in this 21st century.

Ajaokuta remains the biggest industrial complex in the whole of the subregion (W.A.); its misery is indeed our misery. If we were a people 'blessed' with strategy, we wouldn't eat our next bread till that plant (or another of its kind) starts running.

We are heating up the wrong 'furnace'—the oven.

The Western world knows this, so I'm not pessimistic here, but kolework! Why? Until we can fix such things ourselves, no hope!
These monies just go down the drains....
Too bad our engineers are not trained well enough to fix our ailing technology.. We always have to go countries that don't speak English. All their manuals etc will be useless once they leave...all will still be moribund... Our refineries are great examples..
