1. The Kano State Hisbah Board was created through the Kano State Hisbah Board Law No.4 of 2003 and the Kano State Hisbah Board (Amendment) Law No.6 of 2005 by the Kano State House of Assembly, which were duly assented to by the then Governor of Kano State, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau.

Now, what Law created AMOTEKUN, by which House of Assembly, and who assented to it?

2. Under Section 7 of the Law No. 4 of 2003, Hisbah Corps were established with the duties and responsibilities set out under subsection (4) of that section, some of which include:

Rendering necessary assistance to the Police and other Security Agencies especially in the areas of prevention, detention and reporting of offences;

Handling non-fire-arms for self defence like batons, and other non-lethal civil defence instruments;

-Assisting in any other situation that will require the involvement of Hisbah be it preventive or detective.

The Law that established Hisbah Corps was categorical in not allowing them to carry fire arms or any lethal weapons for self defence.

What about AMOTEKUN? What does the law establishing it say, if at all one exists?

3. The Government of Olusegun Obasanjo through the Inspector General of Police Mr. Sunday Ehindero in a press briefing on 7th of February, 2006 declared the Hisbah Law and the operations of the bodies created by the Laws as unconstitutional and illegal.

Is AMOTEKUN even backed by any Law?

4. On 8th February, 2006 the same Inspector General of Police Sunday Ehindero ordered his officers and men to effect the arrest of the Chairman and Commander General of the Hisbah Corps, Mallam Yahaya Farouk Chedi and his Deputy Mallam Abubakar Abdulkareem Rabo. They were arrested in Kano and immediately taken to Abuja where they were detained.

Has any Commander of AMOTEKUN been arrested, despite the fact that they are not backed by any known law and are made to carry fire-arms?

Would the atmosphere not have been more volatile by now if such has happened?

5. The same Government of Olusegun Obasanjo through the Minister of Information, Mr Frank Nweke Jr. in another press briefing made serious allegations that the Hisbah had sought foreign assistance from Libya and Iran for training as a terrorist group.
thank you for giving us your understanding about hisban or whatsoever you call it. Then which law established the civilian JTF. The same way we have civilian JTF same way we have Amotekun. Take it like that Mr Professor of Boko haramism and hisbanism

The petitioner and litigant should amend the charge to include Civilian JTF in the case. Amotekun is actually parallel to Civilian JTF in that they have the same set objective of combating crime and protecting lives and property.

Therefore the case should be amended to demand the disbandment of Civilian JTF in the North and the stopping of its being funded by public funds.

Let them chew on that.

This is a welcome development. Let the supreme Court settle this issue once and for all and tell us why the North can enjoy privileges that it refuses to allow the South to likewise enjoy. Hisbah is permitted to exist and operate in more than two states in the North (particularly the North West), yet the FG is frowning at Amotekun's regional character. This hypocrisy must end.

Same court which will be decided by a Fulani caliphate! This Fulani controls every security outfit in the zoo called Nigeria ,if Yoruba want to have peace they should allow Fulani to be the head of the new security in the region, the Fulani are against it because is not controlled by the Fulani caliphate that's all

This is disingeiif the originator is in support of Amotekun.
He should have waited for it to be backed up by the state laws first.

1.In case like this, the court will order to maintain status quo. And that is a status of no law setting up Amotekun.

2. The court will then spend 3 years to dispose the case by when it would have been solved politically.

3. The court can throw out the case as the litigan can not proof he suffers any damage by set up or not of Hisbah or Amotekun.

4. And At the end of the three years, if the case is not thrown out, the court will likely rule any set up without lethal weapons as legal if set up by the state. This will cover all the likes of KAI, TIMARIV, LASTMA, HISBAH, NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH etc
And declare that states has no power to set up lethal weapons bearing security outfits. This will include CJTF, OSPAC of Rivers state etc.

Where do you think this leaves Amotekun

Exactly. What the activist did is right. The court should explain the reason why the Northern states should be allowed to operate HISBAH and the South West are not allowed to have their own. Tinubu is silent over this issue now because of his political ambission/personal interest and not that he has Yoruba nation in his mind.

Remember each state set up it's own HISBAH and Kano Hisbah is independent of Zamfara Hisbah. Only state house of assembly can set up anything like that. And Hisbah is only comparable to the neighbourhood watch of Lagos state.

For our Amotekun, each state needs to set it up by its house of assembly law.

GlobalWay:
The most ridiculous aspect of this is that few months ago when Fulanis volunteered to start armed vigilante group to protect Yorubas in Yoruba land, the North supported then. grin What a wickedly deceitful people they are.
Copy and share the truth below if you've not.

*A MUST-Read For ALL Yorubas*
Real Yorubas don't flinch, snitch or asslick those killing our People. In fact, we effortlessly faced their massive intruding army at the Oshogbo War in 1840 and mercilessly slaughtered them enmasse like chickens. Despite them having the seeming advantage of gallant horses, they met their waterloo in our hands through the superior military Intelligence of perpetually undefeatable United Yoruba Army. Their remnant flee with their tails between their legs peeing on their bodies, never to return to battle Yorubas again. History showed them that Yorubas are far superior to them, they can NEVER conquer us man to man in War or Wisdom challenge.

They realized that our Real Strength and impenetrability is in our UNITY as indivisible Yoruba People. That's why they've now resulted to deceitfully using religion to brainwash few senseless gullible ones to become their slaves and work to betray their own blood brothers to death. Religion can never divide Real Yorubas, because Blood is thicker than water. *Real Yorubas are civilized, we all believe in allowing other Yorubas to practice any religion they choose.* We are united beyond religion.

We are united by Blood and Language. *Real Yorubaness is all about being ready to do whatever it takes to make ALL Yoruba lives better.* Yorubas are not shallow-minded, shakle-minded or narrow-minded. We are united far beyond shackles and manipulative backwardness of organized religions like Christianity, Traditional Religion, or Islam, etc which have been used to cause divisions among people and make them to hate/destroy one another. The true God is LOVE, not Religion.

Seeking God is ultimate for Man, but the true CREATOR of Humanity would never encourage men to destroy or enslave other men.

We are permanently against anything and everything that would hurt or enslave any Yoruba. We are completely permanently for anything and everything that would empower ALL Yorubas Worldwide.

All our Children should be informed that Yorubas are not gullible; religion can not be use to deceive or divide us. Individual choice and affiliation to Traditional Religion, Christianity or Islam can never make us to prioritize one Yoruba over another. *Greatness among Yorubas is strictly by Merit of working to ameliorate ALL Yoruba lives without any bias.* Because of your religious affiliation, if you neglect deserving meritocracy to favour one Yoruba over another, then you a cancer among Yoruba people. Only those that meticulously work to make ALL Yoruba lives better shall be enthroned.

Anyone one that betrays any Yoruba because of affiliation to any of these religions shall die a Terrible Death.

No single real Yoruba supports killing of people in the name of religion. Real Yorubas are too intelligent to be that dumb. You know that "Change is the only Constant thing" If you are still among the already deceived Senseless ones, change for good to prevent your unborn generation from becoming eternal Fulani asslickers and perpetual slaves.

How on Earth can one still be in support Buhari and his less intelligent people that are killing your very own Yoruba brothers, raping your Yoruba sisters and ripping out your unborn Children from your wives' belly?! All because they manipulate your shallow gullible excreter brain with "belonging to same religion" deception.

Blood is thicker than water, only a super gullible fool trades his own tribal brother for money, position or religion.
You and your likes that do that are fake Yorubas. *In fact, you are worse than fake if you betray any Yoruba, you are a bastard Yoruba!*

Dividing, Ostracizing and ganging up against fellow Yorubas just because of religious difference has prevented Yoruba Race from maximizing the awaiting potential Greatness and Progress that would have since manifested. The great CREATOR of all has no religion, religion is man-made. We need ALL intelligent and God-sent Yorubas, regardless of religion, to manifest the unprecedented united Yoruba Progress that would forever marvel the whole World.

Nobody is still using Nokia 3310 or any first generation phone, because new generations of technologies "learn" from the past ones to "give birth" to more better useful ones. Real Yorubaness is NOT about belonging to Traditional Religion, Christianity, or Islam. Wise Generation always learn from past Generation to become better. World over, culture is dynamic, and Change is the only constant thing. Every part of our culture that makes us destroy other Yorubas must be expunged. Our forefathers would continue to shift in their graves and heavily curse us if we don't learn from their mistakes and improve; which is why they lived in the first place. It would be stupidly stagnating to continue to do same thing same way and expect a different result.

In the past, we've allowed division through religion to prevent the participation of very intelligent Yorubas that would have immensely contributed to our massive united Progress as a People. The myopic backward mentality of ganging up against other Yorubas just because of religious difference must STOP in our own Generation! *We have to love and unselfishly prioritize our collective future Generation over myopic cultural ego or religious ego, if we are Genuinely serious about wining this battle to successfully PREVENT our Children from becoming perpetual slaves to united People.*

Pride and myopic ego of thinking that we don't need ALL Yorubas to succeed as a united People has already made us to be the most trampled and ridiculed Tribe in Nigeria and in Africa. Hence forth, let's make ALL Yorubas feel welcome into Yorubaness, it is the only wise way to truly become the impenetrable undefeatable great People that we have been destined to become. Let ALL Yorubas know that they are all welcome to heartily participate and contribute to Yoruba greatness.

*"Yorubaness is all about being ready to do whatever it takes to make ALL Yoruba lives better.*
Forward to all Yorubas and Yoruba groups.

From: *Yoruba Unity International*

YUI Motto: *“Yoruba! Okan laje , l’ojo k'ojo Yoruba! Okan laje, n’ibi gbogbo!!!*
The brain of the person that composed this will never dwindle. And GOD shall bless all Yorubas that shared this.

One nation supposedly, with two penal codes. 'One Nigeria' indeed! When Obasanjo cautioned against the centre’s highhandedness, people drunk on a massively rigged electoral victory called him all sorts of names and even recommended that he be incarcerated for even speaking out at all. Suddenly, the intentions of baba for the 97%ers is not so clear again. Now I don’t see much of SE bashing again on NL, it’s not so clear who the 'wailers' or the '97%ers' really are anymore. We are suddenly southerners again and we have realized that we are at the edge of an abyss looking down at a long dark future. In the immortal words of the legendary Sonny Okosun; Which way Nigeria, which way to go? I love my fatherland so I want to know, which way Nigeria is heading to.

Hisbah is only applicableto thosewho profess to be Muslims, hence a non Muslimcan not take it to court as he can not proof any loss or damage to his rights or propertyfrom Hisbah's existence.
More so Hisbah is non weaponized outfit similar to KAI, LASTMA and Neighbourhoodwatch.

Coldie:
Hisbah must be banned if Amotekun is to be banned. Hisbah is worst than Amotekun.

Imagine Nigeria being a secular state, and according to the constitution every Nigerian rights to live, move and work everywhere in Nigeria.

And some people come out and say they are sharia people declare there States sharia states, and according to them as far as u are in there state whether Muslim or not u must act according to the sharia law. Then set up a force to be enforcing it.

How would an organization be arresting non Muslims for eating food during Islamic holidays, how would an organization be arresting non Muslims who take or sell alcohol and be destroying there legitimate businesses?

If they ban Amotekun then Hisbah must go.

Amotekun is a good idea. But the Yoruba governors are taking steps to legalize it...So who send this shombolator message?

So u are saying dat there is a provision in Nigeria Constitution for state police? If I can remember vividly,I think de idea of state police was thrown to de dusbin during the CONFAB.Since Hisbah is the creation of Kano state's laws, does that makes it a legal security outfit without any reference to Nigeria Constitution? If it's because Hisbah has de backing of states' laws as u said dat makes it legal, wouldn't it has bin wise for AGF to advise the SW govnors to initiate a bill for dia different state houses of assembly to back up de creation of AMOTEGUN rather than declaring it illegal?

PreciousJuice:

Rendering necessary assistance to the Police and other Security Agencies especially in the areas of prevention, detention and reporting of offences;

Handling non-fire-arms for self defence like batons, and other non-lethal civil defence instruments;

Mr Solicitor, please when was the Hisbah
Police established and started its operations and when precisely was the dubious Kano state Hisbah law enacted to back it up ?
