A judge on Friday sentenced former Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), an early and staunch ally of President Donald Trump, to 26 months in prison after he pleaded guilty last September to conspiracy to commit securities fraud.

Collins, the first member of Congress to endorse Trump’s 2016 presidential bid, used his position as the largest shareholder in the Australian biotechnology company Innate Immunotherapeutics to illegally give other stockholders an inside tip that a test of the company’s main product had failed.

“You were a member of the (company’s) board, that has legal significance. You owed a duty to Innate and you betrayed that duty,” U.S. District Judge Vernon Broderick said during the sentencing, according to Matthew Russell Lee of InnerCityPress.com.

“It makes people believe the market is rigged,” Broderick added. Federal prosecutors earlier this week urged a sentence of close to five years. Collins cried as he spoke to the court shortly before his sentencing.

The FBI and ICE are investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar’s activities between 2009 and 2017, including her marriages to Ahmed Hersi and Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. The Blaze’s David Steinberg made the claims in a January 16 article for the Glenn Beck-run conservative website. Steinberg calls the unproven allegations against the Somali-born Minnesota congresswoman as “what could be the worst-ever crime spree by an elected US official.”

Steinberg points to Minnesota state Rep. Steve Drazkowski, who had previously directed Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney Erica McDonald, to look into Rep. Omar’s alleged crimes. Since then, Steinberg says that the FBI has taken “additional steps” since then.

Among other things, Omar, 38, is accused of marrying her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in 2009 in order for him to gain entry to the United States. At the time, Elmi was living in London. Steinberg points to Elmi registration at North Dakota State University as a federal education violation, in addition to an immigration violation. Steinberg describes Omar’s crimes as “eight instances of perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, up to eight years of state and federal tax fraud, two years of federal student loan fraud, and even bigamy.”

Since 2002, Omar has been in a romantic relationship with Ahmed Hirsi, who is three years her senior. The couple has three children together. The couple married in their faith in 2002 but did not legally wed. When Omar married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, the congresswoman said that she and Hirsi had separated. The couple later reconciled in 2011 and had a third child. Omar did not divorce Elmi until 2017. Omar’s complicated marital history was detailed in a lengthy June 2019 Minneapolis Star-Tribune feature.

When comparing criminal indictments of those serving in the executive branch of presidential administrations it's so lopsided as to be ridiculous. Yet all I ever hear is how corrupt the Democrats are. So why don't we break it down by president and the numbers.

Clinton (D) - 8yrs in office. 2 criminal indictments. one conviction. one prison sentence. that's right nearly 8yrs of investigations. tens of millions spent and 30yrs of claiming them the most corrupt ever and there was exactly one person convicted of a crime.

Bush, George H. W. (R) - 4yrs in office. one indictment. one conviction. one prison sentence.

Reagan (R) - 8yrs in office. 26 criminal indictments. 16 convictions. 8 prison sentences.

Carter (D) - 4yrs in office. one indictment. zero convictions and zero prison sentences.

Ford (R) - 2 1/2 yrs in office. one indictment and one conviction. one prison sentence. Pardoned Richard Nixon.

Nixon (R) - 6yrs in office. 76 criminal indictments. 55 convictions. 15 prison sentences.

Johnson (D) - 5yrs in office. zero indictments. zero convictions. zero prison sentences.

So, let’s see where that leaves us. in the last 53 years Democrats have been in office for 25 of those years while Republicans held it for 28. in their 25yrs in office Democrats had a total of three executive branch officials indicted with one conviction and one prison sentence. That's one whole executive branch official convicted of a crime in two and a half decades of Democrat leadership.

In the 28yrs that Republicans have held office over the last 53yrs they have had a total of (a drum roll would be more than appropriate), 120 criminal indictments of executive branch officials. 89 criminal convictions and 34 prison sentences handed down. That's more prison sentences than years in office since 1968 for Republicans. If you want to count articles of impeachment as indictments (they aren't really but we can count them as an action), both sides get one more.

However, Clinton wasn't found guilty while Nixon resigned and was pardoned by Ford. So, those only serve to make Republicans look even worse. With everything going on with Trump and his people right now, it's a safe bet Republicans are gonna be padding their numbers a bit real soon.

So let's just go over the numbers one more time shall we. 120 indictments for Republicans. 89 convictions and 34 prison sentences. Those aren't "feelings" or "alternate facts" those are simply the stats by the numbers. Republicans are, and have been for my entire lifetime, the most criminally corrupt party to hold the office of the presidency.

Calling him evil first was classic Democrats to get him to do what they want. The man is charged for federal crime and wants to give the Democrats something to cut a deal for reduce charges/sentence and what Democrats need more than anything now is anything to help them against Trump.

Why was this Les Parnes not put under oath in the Congress if they believe what he's saying? Congress has it's time and it's Senate time to review the criminal evidence of impeaching Trump. The Senate wants to use Clinton's model with video deposition, no witnesses were present at the trial. If Trump is going to wave his executive privilege and allow his acting chief of staff and fired NSA Bolton to be Democrats witnesses, he will be able to get Adam Schiff, Joe and Hunter Biden and the whistleblower to testify.
