Why would one region feel dey are smart in there ways towards others while dey are not but dumb.Seeing this pics makes me feel so bad to be candid because of hw d north av been taken this amotekun issue..from the look of things there have never been one Nigeria.There is no day that would pass that u wouldn't hear Fulani killings or herdsmen and farmers crisis but u will never see any of this northerners condemning this attrocities. Bro, i understand. We have been there once. For the audacity of Ojukwu millions lost lives. Python was not anti Kanu, it was anti-Ibo. FG could have simply sorrounded and extracted Kanu from that compound without unecessary force. That was excessive force. I like your confession but i think you have to say more than this.
For the people lost to python no one can recover their losses.

I supported Buhari also but during python i condemned the action. No one is more disgusted with ibo here than i am but we have to see and speak up against violation of people rights. That python was an abuse and not a political action, in fact its an hatred.

Ever since that time i laid low and am not as opposed to ibo as i used to be before. They were denied justice in python. Their hunan rights was grossly violated.

If the "South" decided to keep quiet and ignore what might have been an unconstitutional act, don't now cry foul and blame the North for raising an objection when they see unconstitutional act that they feel is detrimental to their region. I have always said it that Nigerians in the South need to do an inward assessment of the purpose of their legislators who are being paid billions of Naira to represent them.

The truth is Civilian JTF's brief (counter-insurgency) is very different from Amotekun's (crime fighting). For obvious reasons, the former would need sophisticated weapons while the latter might not. You miss the point. It is not unconstitutional and that is why no one has any serious qualms about the CJTF. Beyond this, some Northern states have other vigilante, neighbourhood outfits similar to Amotekun and they carry weapons. They were also formed without any one bothering them because it is community policing. The reason these comparisons now arise is because of the odious hypocrisy displayed by the Northern interests. Apart from Hisbah which is religious-based and backed by state laws, these other groups have no legal backing so why the special interest and unnecessary noise in the South? The Rivers State House of Assembly passed a law establishing a neighborhood watch sometime in 2018 (see links added), yet the Army disbanded them and branded it illegal so what exactly is the problem?

@the bold I agree with you to the extent that our representatives at federal level and even state governors are selfish. Like this issue of Rivers I just mentioned, I see no reason why the state allowed the issue to die upon the interference of the Army without a spirited legal fight considering that the organization is backed by state law.
