Not to sound insensitive to the plight of fellow Nigerians but how do we expect quality education with the meagre fees we are paying? Universities are underfunded in this country.

Acceptance fee and the rest of those fees universities keep bringing up daily is how they are trying to shore up more money to cover the deficits nd so as not to increase the studying fees itself. grin they're indirectly collecting more money using another format because Nigerians got no chill, if dem add school fees na wahala nd protest evrywhere!

people will complain that Universities abroad are this and that... the average fees of universities abroad runs into thousands of dollars per student annually while over here you are barely paying up a mere 500$ maybe less including acceptance fee and expect the same standards with universities outside Nigeria......you get what you pay for people undecided

Smh when government is as useless as a dead phenese so you mean the institution will not buy facilities for studying, provide accomodation for students, repair damaged university facilities and pay workers their salaries ABI?

Even to join Yahoo or do armed robbery is not free or any legitimate handwork like catering, tailoring etc.to even do freedom you will pay

There's always a monetary or otherwise price to pay for any choice made legitimately or illegitimately

The question is " Are they remitting the money to federal government or the so called Lecturers running away from IPPIS are looting it. Very soon they will come out to deny allegation, I still maintain that the corruption in our higher institutions is more than NNPC.

ASUU will pay a deaf ear to this as usual. When the happenings is in their favour, they keep mum, when it's not in their favour the will start shouting. Bunch of clowns.

This is why I love my school ABU, Zaria. There's nothing like acceptance fee, and the school is doing better than most of the Universities in Nigeria. No department pays up to N36,000 for school fees, medical fees, faculty charges and other charges. Freshers in my department pay just N29,500.
That is because he receive more subvention from the government than other federal universities

In this age of the cyber-space, you do not necessarily need to go to the university to be educated.

Academic and intellectual knowledge are all around us thanks to the digital world we have created.

Op God bless you for this....High acceptance fee in public Universities should be totally condemned, and both NUC and Ministry of Education have refused to say anything about this foolish act.
