GidiWoodsMan:Look bro you are just blaming all the violent crime in Lagos on poor okada rider those guysrae thieves not rider ok you should know that first in ur mind even if the bann okada crime willl still be there and if these thieves wanna operate they will still look for okada and do their crime . You can't monitor all bike.riders in Lagos abi you be Magician So now because of one .an crime a thousand innoce t riders will be left to suffer in dis shit hole nation with no other options I laugh Lagos State govt they are gonna loss a high revenue from that the most annoying one is Keke napep again they bann together Now they have bann it abi with Keke napep expect many crime to start all.over again scribble:This is.not an excuseagos state have too many motorist car owners and fewer connecting roads ok everyone wanna ride a car ..that the problem not the okada Yes the okada guys are there to make ur life easier come to places like trade Fair in badagry expressway and see how they struggle each day with the bad road ..after the day's work every one climb okada straight home ... Go to Alaba intl and all other markets in Lagos and infact okada has been a stress reliever to everyone even the govt workers take it sometimes to their work They should have put a perfect and working scheme option for the riders before banning if they wanna bann Now they have bann it abi with Keke napep expect many crime to start all.over again |

ikorodureporta:But they are close to chasing vehicles off the road on Lekki Epe Expressway. That road is too massive for bikes plus you'll find them switching lanes like it's an action movie scene. Wonder why people don't value their life. Enforcement please! |

Some policies lack a human face. Though the Lagos state policy to create a modern mega city is laudable, the government must be pragmatic. The per capita income of Nigeria is less than $3,000, more like $2,000. Unemployment rate is a mind-blowing 21%. Economic rate of 2.5% is a job destroying disgrace. Riding tricycles is a means many have used to survive these hard times. You even have many women tricyclist. It provides a good living wage for owner drivers and even those who take it on hire purchase or do daily or weekly "deliver". It was a refuge for many who lost the jobs in the recession of 2016-2017 or those who were forced to give up their Okada business due to the hefty restrictions placed on them by Fashola. I know a driver who lives a middle income life. He's even bought a lovely minivan from the proceeds for the family use. Many here have tales of the benefits. If the economy was booking and per capita income was at least $6,000 but preferably $8,000, it would not be an issue banning them. But with the squalid state of the economy, it just doesn't seem fair |

I don’t know why Nigerians lack constructive criticism. It was on this same platform people where clamoring for the ban of okada in Lagos state. Now your dreams have come through , yet you are here complaining. I bat you don’t wanna have any problems with one of them, especially the northerners among them. |

This is the reality and consequence of our leadership choice as a country.leadership should be about the people and what is best for them which is a contrary opinion in our own country.leadership and government policies are biased, partisan and selfish.our policies and actions are based on attacking and punishing predecessors, opposition parties and business competitors at the expense of the poor citizens. Unfortunately, banning okada would solve little or nothing without addressing the root cause of the problem.why would commuters preferred Yellow bus (Danfo) to BRT?why would I preferred to take bike if there is reliable, safer and fast alternatives?the simple answers is that okada, despite it high risk is proving fast solution to the needs of the commuters which is a fast means of getting to your destination. Interestingly, my suspicion is that this okada policy is a deliberate war on okada E-hailing business in Lagos state.it is more of political interest ,selfishness and Vedanta and of little or no interest of the citizen which could due to this reasons; 1.there was an unconfirmed information that one of the popular Ehailing company is owned by Governor Ambode the immediate past governor of Lagos state.if this is true,it is just a way of getting back at him 2.Ehailing okada do not pay money to "agbero" the thugs and miscrant which serves as tax and revenue collector for the governments.the implication of the bumming Ehailing ride is that the income of the thugs is dwindling as well as the quota of revenue they would pay to the government . In conclusion,if our leaders would be fair and honest to themselves and addressed the root cause of Lagos problem by providing better and reliable alternatives.all the security and safety concern would have naturally addressed itself and okada and yellow buses business would have die a natural death.it should be noted that no country can n be librated by playing this kind of hide and seek politics. |

I read some comment and see how some ppu are lamenting about not fixing the road before placing a ban on Tricycle and Okada in Lagos. No one is talking about the menace and nuisance this riders are causing to the city of Lagos. Must every rubbish be encouraged in the city of Lagos? For more than a decade now there is no Okada riders in Enugu main town, Okada are restricted to places like Ngwo,9th miles etc, in Kano like wise there is no Commercial Okada rider and there is no noise or tension about it, but this is Lagos everything goes. In Abuja late last year a ban was placed on Okada and tricycle to certain locations, ppu complained but today they av moved on. We can't continue doing thing the same way and expect a different result. Most time we hide under the umbrella of unemployed ppu using this means to feed their families in as much one sympathised with d affected victim, it will be nice to say boldly those not finding it comfortable in Lagos shu relocate to another city. I was robbed of my phone by an Okada man at Yaba along Ozone cinema way, while I watched the man ride away I was speechless and amazed. Till today I am still having the phobia and shock whenever I see any riders besides me. |

With all this road restrictions, they should list the road they should ply if they are honest to themselves. LASG should simply come out and say they are banning all okada/tricycle on Lagos road instead of all this rigmarole. It is obvious they don't want them on all Lagos road. |
