As controversy continues to trail the formation of a security outfit to tackle rising threats in the Southwest, a northern group has thrown its weight behind the group, known as Amotekun.

The National President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, said in an interview with Vanguard that they were in full support of Amotekun given the rising wave of insecurity and violence across the country in recent times.

Shettima said that rather than dismissing Amotekun as illegal and vilifying the Southwest governors for their ingenuity in setting up the security outfit, the federal government should team up with the governors and ensure the workability of the new outfit.

“Shettima said: I am a strong supporter of community policing given the state of insecurity in Nigeria particularly in the northern part of the country and I believe that Amotekun is a right step in the right direction which should be supported by all well-meaning Nigerians.

“As far as I am concerned the North should get ready to start its own version of Amotekun in order to be able to tackle the rising wave of insecurity in the region. It is only when one is alive that there could be governance.
“The situation is clear and simple: If the state cannot protect and defend its citizens the people must find a way to protect themselves,” the youth leader contended.

My analysis of the Amotekun development in a text to a friend a while back. Funny how history is playing out and only time will tell the true plans of the cabals.

We should be tackling the insecurity issue scientifically.

What areas of the western region have been affected by the herdsmen crisis?

What are their common targets and motive?

Do their targets have any criminal record that could've possibly transformed honest farmers into blood-thirsty vigilantes?

The herdsmen and Amotekun are part of a larger game the cabals are playing and it's high time tax payers started seeing things for what they are.

These are questions we should be answering, not wasting tax payers money on the Amotekun propaganda.

Same shiiit just a different Day. Our problem in this country is corruption simple as ABC. But these leaders are running from pillar to post to deceive people. If there's minimal corruption in the police, Armed forces, judiciary and legislature. You'll see the security of life's and property will improve.

If the police, Army and other security Agencies are crippled by corruption, what is AMOTEKUN if I may ask? It's either the Amotekuns are limited to do their jobs by their Bosses or they themselves (Amotekuns) start receiving Bribes due to the hardship. What we need in this country is someone like Gadaffi who's s Tyrant but have the masses at heart or let's adopt china's style of Death penalty to public office holders. The money they steal with impunity makes them very powerful to by anything at the expense of serving few years in jail which is not worth the money they stole. I've not heard about Wadume and Evans if these cases can still linger up till this time it shows one call from Above will render Amotekun powerless even if the North forms their own nothing will change as long as we've leaders who share interests with each other.
