Area4Area:You are very unenlightened. Anyway, it has always being the case of Nigeria. Araba riot started on May 29. 1966 and end September 1967 after the Nigeria/Biafra war had started. The shout of Araba stopped only when the British diplomats informed the goons from northern region of Nigeria that their silly region cannot feed itself. In fact, they were resourcefully informed by the Britsh that Chad and Niger will be better than the Republic of Arewa. |

doclatom:The bolded above will always remain one of the indices Nigerians intellectual pedigree. Why would Enahoro move motion for Nigerian Independence and right off the bat request for secession clause? The British would have denied the request for independence maybe citing immaturity. If Anthony Enahoro was clever enough, he would have moved a motion for independence of ethnic nationalities in the Protectorate instead of Nigeria. The British had shown the tendencies to deny the granting of self rule by the petition tendered by northern region. Nigeria never had a constitution drawn by Nigerians as both 1960 and 1963 constitutions were slightly the same. |

Igbos on this thread need not lie to themselves that their Political and Military Leaders in the first republic are responsible for their present demise in Nigeria today. Zik's statement of the Igbos dominating other Nigerian tribes and African tribes on the front page of his West African Pilot is a solid fact. |

doclatom:This long, silly write up is riddled with lies and orangutan logic from top to bottom. Tinubu will never be President. If his e-touts like they can choke cyberspace with lies about Igbos it won't help him in 2023 |
| Re: Forgotten History Of Igbo Tribe And Northern Alliance by Nobody: 6:56pm On Jan 24, 2020 |
bakynes3:What a load of rubbish, firstly which military leaders in the first republic are you talking about? Nzeogwu? see I don't like to overflog a dead horse, but I hate when revisionists like yourself whose facts or lack thereof are lost on the wrong side of history come here and regurgitate the same crap-tales, no basis of researched facts... just emotional nonsense. If you really want to educate yourself about the true facts of the first coup, read Wale Ademoyega's book titled "Why we stuck". He was a apparently a Yoruba man for one, and also a one of the five Majors who participated in the coup... read read read, it's fundamental to the mind, before you carry your self-indicting ignorance to the grave. Secondly in reference to your other point about Zik talking about Igbo dominating other tribes, that was his own personal statement, I very much doubt he sought the consensus of Igbos nationwide before saying that, so whatever context of meaning it carried to him... will be on his conscience not on Igbos. And of course Zik can't only be culpable for saying outlandish things, when you consider the fact that the likes of Akintola and Ahmadu Bello probably said worse about Igbos right? |

It baffles me the level of deception in this country called Nigerian.Liars and deception will prevail for a while. When the light of the truth comes Igbos will lead the way. |

B.S. One Igbo colonel was killed. Also the reason why the military officers killed was because they enjoyed too much patronage from Politicians |

Only a foolish tribe will expect the enemy he is at war with to provide him food so he can continue fighting him. It is baffling one foolish n cursed tribe can expect to hold a 3rd world country accountable to such standard. Did your bigoted father not teach you the story of Idi Amin or the geno id's in Rwanda? Even the Britain n USA you look up to for moral n world standard are busy killing civilians in Afghanistan n Iraq on a daily basis, talk less of 3rd world Nigeria with every moral to exterminate a bigoted tribe filled with hatred bigotry n extreme foolishness. bakynes3:And so what if Zik had the confidence in his ethnic groups ability to 'dominate' Africa through merit and taking advantage of business/economic opportunities? Igbos are a blessed people! Notice how the Sadauna was complaining about Igbos running things in the north...notice how Igbo states have the highest cut-off marks for JAMB....notice how all Nigerians are in agreement that if you go to any place and don't see Igbos there, you had better turn around and run as such a place would not be conducive for living.....i could go on and on! Even in Nigeria, see how certain sections of the country lose sleep over the mere suggestion of referendum on secession or the suggestion of secession itself! They can't imagine surviving without us! You're probably one of them! |

Magicians:See this one justifying war crimes just because the victims were the Igbos he despises so much! Utterly vile excuse for a human being! Nobody asked you to feed anyone! If you can't defeat your enemy on the battle field, fighting man-to-man, then just throw in the towel! Your dumb argument flies in the face of your claim of military superiority over the Biafrans! |

Dedetwo:This is silly. They cannot feed themselves how? They had the groundnut pyramids. Till today majority of the food products enjoyed by Nigeria comes from the North. In fact before the incoming or the colonialists, the Yorubas had been trading with the North. So what do you mean by the North couldn't feed itself? I'm confused here. ![]() |

bakynes3:That's what I find disturbing. The propensity to want to dominate others. Even the late Sardauna at the time mentioned it. I guess that's what they have in common with the Fulanis from Futajalon mountain. The desire to dominate. |
