jihday:Did you not see their show of intelligence in the last match we had with Algeria, just that Mahrez had a sudden change of mind. Onyekuru is very intelligent, and we shall all one day come to the same reckoning. |

Humility017:You may have your wish cause according to reports he will be renamed as U23 and CHAN eagles coach. It is just a shame that our coaching system is soo bad that someone who served ban for bribery and corruption is our only sound technical option domestically |

Bournemouth have reignited their interest in Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman, according to a report from the Daily Mail UK. The Cherries had explored the possibility of signing the former England U20 star but missed out on his services to RB Leipzig last summer. Lookman made a return to the German Bundesliga after impressing for RB Leipzig in the second half of the 2017-2018 season but his second spell at the club has not been as successful as anticipated due to a lack of playing opportunities. The stumbling block to Bournemouth signing the winger is that RB Leipzig are willing to loan him with an obligation to purchase at the end of the season. In addition, there is also interest for Lookman from Premier League rivals Newcastle United and West Ham. Lookman has appeared in four matches so far this season, with his last start coming against SC Freiburg on October 26. |

With Iheanacho about to get a run of games due to the sad injury of the Leicester City top scoring hitman, Jamie Vardy, there is a significant improvement I want to see in Iheanacho’s play. In the last game, I noticed some wrong decisions in his direction of attack when his team was on the offensive. His decision to run into tight areas, expecting his team mates to send the ball to those areas is wrong. It will not work and most times, his team mates choose other options than passing the ball to him. Nacho needs to master the use of pockets of spaces in the opponents box while playing. Firmino is an expert in this. You will also see this in Aguero and Gabriel Jesus when De Bruyne sends some of his trademark curling passes. Iheanacho needs to think more as a creative midfielder than a striker when he is there. Fall into spaces, use his brilliant passing ability to find his creative players in space. Also, this will give him the opportunity to shoot at goal from a distance when in space. Very few forwards have his skill set of shooting from far and needs to work with spaces to shoot more often. |

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr granted an interview lasting approximately one hour to French radio station RIG, 90.7 FM, Bordeaux on Wednesday and spoke about a number of topics, including his contract situation with the Nigeria Football Federation and the retirement of three of his biggest stars Victor Moses, John Obi Mikel and Odion Ighalo. The former Bayern Munich defender gave two reasons why Inter Milan wing-back Moses called time on his international career and believes he has found Ighalo's heir and players with the same attributes as Mikel. In quotes carried by Bordeaux dedicated website Girondins33, Rohr said : "We no longer have a big star, because John Obi Mikel retired, that Victor Moses also retired for family and age reasons in particular ... and even our top scorer, Odion Ighalo , declared his retirement after the AFCON 2019. "We managed to find a scorer with Victor Osimhen , and other playmakers: we have Samuel Chukweze who plays at Villarreal , the little Samuel Kalu from Bordeaux who plays very very well with us - one of the best every time he plays with Nigeria - so we have a very, very young, promising team, and I might like to continue." On his contract imbroglio with the Nigerian Federation, Rohr revealed that talks have been scheduled to begin next month ahead of the resumption of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Franco-German said : "We will see the leaders soon. It is planned for the month of February and possibly for before the matches of the month of March for the qualification in African Cup of Nations. "Perhaps we could agree to continue the adventure with Nigeria". Bordeaux's all-time record appearance holder in the French top-flight, Rohr has been coaching the Super Eagles since 2016 and qualified the national team for the 2018 World Cup and last summer's AFCON. |
