Wrong stereotype. It may interest you to know Medicine and Law are overrated too. The society places much emphasis in paper qualifications, and most graduates with good grades fair less than their contemporaries with lesser grades. The bottom line is actually having a good referral.

Please exclude music. Music teachers are in real demand so also all religious studies

Most of the above mentioned courses are not bad if you are hard working and have an entrepreneurial spirit.

For instance horticulture. Do you know the cost of some flowers or some tree seedlings

Law is definitely overrated as law graduates produced yearly are higher than what the law profession needs. The only ones it favour are the ones whose relatives are already far ahead in the profession ( SAN's and judges etc).

Medicine on the other hand is the best thing for an average graduate. They earn higher during NYSC than their contemporaries. And thanks to doctors shortage in the country, they don't/can't run out of jobs!

Whatever one finds doing worthwhile, should be done well.

Please remove music from that list.

I'd rather add Law to that list than have music there.

It's true o, you hardly can find an "A" list music artist who read music, even "B" list and "C" lists

Different courses are meant to teach different people new business ideas that are not common but are essential. Certificates are overated. What graduates really need is empowerment/capital.

That music is on the list shows Op is misinformed

Well, music as a profession is very vast and diverse. The part most people pay attention to here in Nigeria is the artistry(aka singer/ performer). What about the production aspect?? What about the instrument aspect?? What about the sound system (Engineering) aspect??

My dear music is more valuable than Law in today's Nigeria. I'm talking from experience.

Poster, who told you Political science is not a good course to study? Nigeria current system being run by federal led government of APC do not value Political scientists or Political Analysts, who would always provide ideas and solutions to government in finding gigantic thought provoking ideas...., but the government of the day, who hate or lack education will not let those great ideas see the light of the day because of selfishness and corruption.

Academia and erudite of Political science, Political Idealist, Political Behaviouralist, Philosophers, Public policy makers of concise thought has profound different dimensions of theory's and Models which has been adumbrated into a piece of paper of black and white but our so called moneybags leader will not seek to read those book and apply those thoughts. For you to confuse a black man and have solutions to his problems, hide something inside book, he will not find it because Africa man don't like to read.

My brother studied football coaching in National Institute for Sports (NIS) with just National Diploma certificate, he is earning almost #350,000 monthly for coaching after school children here in lagos. Employed by a big Spainish football club in lagos. No course that is not relevant it depends on individual perceptions and targets in life.
