Hi nairalanders

Please what do you think can be the cause of a swollen hand such that I feel no pain. Though I once noticed that whenever I take bread, some part of my body do swells and after a day or two it goes back to normal.

Now, this is going for a period of two weeks and no changes even after visiting the hospital 4 days ago.

Doctors in the house, what's your take.

Please take innocent bread out from your predicament. This is hate speech.

Oga, not everything is a joke. He only gave an insight to facilitate a more informed suggestion.

OP, this could be an allergic reaction to some bakery ingredient. But then again, two weeks is already a long time. I'll suggest you go to a good hospital asap. Let them run a test on you and prescribe drugs accordingly so it won't advance into something else.

Health is wealth.

Could be oedema also known as dropsy. Or nephritis. Go for a kidney check up

You need to run a test to ascertain whether it's a blood related problem or an allergy....

Something like this usually happen to me like 3 years ago, part of my face do get swollen at times, not only my hands, series of tests were done but nothing was found. A doctor in ui asked if I usually take septrin or any medication that contains sulphur, I said yes, he advised that I stopped. Behold, after I stopped taking such drugs, the whole thing stopped.
So you may be reacting to a medication.

God bless you

Thanks for mentioning bread because, this is doing me too and i'm pin pointing it to bread too. But my own swelling hardly stay for more than 24 - 48 hours because i saw a doctor that recommended prednisonone. But i'm not comfortable taking it because it's reoccuring everytime. Done series of test found nothing. The only thing the skin doctor i saw want to know is that whether it leaves any sign or mark after it has gone down and it doesn't so she thinks it's just a minor thing or inflammation.

Also, she warned if there is any difficulty in breathing, medical help should be gotten immediately.

If you have any suggestions or medication that has helped let me know.
