I also don't think the problem affecting oil vandalism will apply to nuclear power plant, as there's little of direct economic value to be gotten by raiding a nuclear plant.

How sure are you?

Any layman could be paid millions to go steal nuclear rods from the power plant.

Would the nuclear plant be made very secure?

How sure are you that that there wouldn't be tribalism and nepotism wouldn't be the order of the day when people are being employed?

Would erudite scholars be considered first for employment?

Natural background radiation pose no risk to us because they are so low. Don't forget that we as humans are also radioactive. In fact we are told that the natural radiation in France is currently higher than some parts of Fukushima where the nuclear accident happened. Same part that the government is begging people to return and they are refusing, yet the radiation level here is higher.

It is about perception, it is about being bias, it is about the press too. You are radioactive, the next person with you is also radioactive, this level of activity is not dangerous to the health.

However, induced radioactivity from power plants, and oil drilling sites is harmful to the body.

Quite educative!

Many thanks

Steal nuclear rods for what purpose? Its not like crude oil with a large market.

Would the nuclear plant be made very secure?

As secure as it should be...

How sure are you that that there wouldn't be tribalism and nepotism wouldn't be the order of the day when people are being employed?

I hope not

Would erudite scholars be considered first for employment?

Definitely, especially for sensitive positions. Also based on the op, the nuclear plant would be run by the Russian company for some time, they'd definitely employ capable Nigerians who will then take Over at the specified time.
Not everything is doom and gloom about Nigeria.

Noticed that Samuel didn't go for the match, also noticed another Nigerian(Remi Oudin) in the lineup.

Guys, I told you guys someone from Friends of Nigeria (FON) association invited us to watch the match between FC Nantes and Bordeaux FC.

The guy fulfilled his promise. Not only did he give us a ticket, the ticket was a good one, presidential side. This side was at the centre of the field and everything was clear. We could see the players real height, actions without the help of a camera or referee cheesy cheesy

We arrived very early to the stadium. The crowd was much as expected, most people were outside including yours sincerely. Got my ticket and was ready for the show.

FC Nantes bus actually look very cool.

Seat number 318. Sat down and decided to capture every minute of the game.

Sadly, today was the remembrance of Emilano Sala, the FC Nantes player sold to Cardiff city who lost his life in a plane crash on his way to his new club.

1. Fuel rods are a very sensitive material, more sensitive and more important that some of our top leaders grin grin. It is not stored in a place waiting to be used. It is brought as demanded and installed in the reactor core except if there is a fuel processing plant. To steal it, one have to open the reactor core, and this is very unlikely. You could die trying to steal it.

2. Controlling nepotism is beyond my knowledge as Nigeria is a weird country to live in.

I am of the opinion that we can manage a nuclear power plant. It's an efficient source if energy and it's cheaper in the long run. I disagree about your view on Nigerians not appreciating risks. There are perhaps few people as conscious of risk as we are. Also the fact is, the nuclear power plant wont be managed by the average Nigerian, but rather by educated scholars like yourself; who are aware of the risk and will take the necessary precautions.

I also don't think the problem affecting oil vandalism will apply to nuclear power plant, as there's little of direct economic value to be gotten by raiding a nuclear plant.

I agree with you, we need nuclear power plant, it would provide us with a constant amount of electricity generation. Do you have an idea of the amount of power the nuclear plant in akwa ibom is expected to generate?

This is an interesting and educative thread sir. Well done.

Each unit of a NPP produce 1000MW of electricity and maybe 700-800MWe goes to the grid. I don't know how many they want to install. Maybe we are starting with something small.

I haven't seen any. But University of Portharcourt is doing M.Sc in Nuclear Engineering. Try to read about it.

Bros I currently got a job as a Large Format Machine Operator,

The emission coming out from the machine when printing large banner is worrisome......

Does it have health implications?

Honestly, I don't know bro. Some people work with dish washing machine and the heat it produces too is worrisome, but doesn't make it too dangerous.

Try to enjoy your work bro and be productivity.

Good day, mrphysics, please I'd be very grateful if you could give me a guide to writing an SOP --perhaps a sample will do. I have written a draft already, but I'm not yet satisfied. Here's my Email: ugochukwu.anunihu@gmail.com. Thanks a lot.

The response to your question have been answered above in details (I guess).

To give a high level response: Yes to both of them.

Most public schools in France are tuition free. However, my school is a public school but classified as an Elite schools called Grande Ecole. The French has some public schools with free tuition fee and then some Elite Schools with tuition fee. For my school, it's 22k euros for masters. 12k euros/year.

I am under scholarship and also got a scholarship in the school as one of the best M.Sc applicants. I think they pick one from every department and give 6k euros scholarship that comes as a tuition waiver. I got that and it only goes to my sponsors. Wish there's a way I can get that money. My guys dey wait for me for Ogbete main market. I no fit disappoint them.

My point is, make a good choice depending on your program sponsorship. If you are self sponsored, know where to go.

Warm regards

As an alumni of that school..I say loud it please.lol

The concluding part of the welcome program is a lecture on cross-cultural relationship. A consultant in that field was invited for the training. It was a nice one because most people actually say it's their first time being in the midst of people from different countries, regions, and cultures.

Well, for us Nigerians, we used to multi-ethnic relationship and it's not new to us relating with people from different places.

Yours sincerely had to kill the spirit of African time by being so early to the training.

That man still dey there..i remember receiving that intercultural class 8 years ago..lol

Hi guys, it's been a while.
I must admit, it's been tough cheesy cheesy. The French Engineering Schools are tough and mine seem to take everything personal. cheesy cheesy.

We are finally done with first semester classes and exams, almost 6 months of intensive studies and exams. Here, we write exams while lectures are on going. The end of one course becomes the beginning of another.

It's been really tough, having lectures from 8am to 6pm everyday except Thursdays (8-12pm) is something I never expected
. But thank God it's becoming over and we honestly hope the activities of the next semester gives us a breathing space.

Research project if very important in my school. Infact, every semester, we will do one project and submit an academic paper, I guess the purpose is to groom us on how research is done in sciences. On Monday, we will be defending our project cheesy cheesy and submit our papers before month end. This makes it 4 documents and reports I have to submit before the end of the month. cheesy cheesy

So briefly, I will be sharing with you the lessons I have learned and also share the intriguing stories of our niche, the Nigerian perspective and the international view of the industry.

So welcome back and I hope to make it interesting for you again.

Oh they didn't tell you.lol Typical French.. they are intense..but I wonder were the French engineering undergrad get the time and energy to.party in the night...
