Walk like it is done all over the world. When you get off the tube in central London,or Metro in NY Manhattan, there is no keke or okada. If your office is 1km away from the station you have to walk. Are you that lazy that you cant walk from EKO hotel to Ligali Ayorinde or Etim Inyang less than 500m away? Honestly, the kekes and okadas can be real nuisance, especially on the highways; obstructing your path, bashing your car, etc. However, it'll be good to know the alternatives the govt is putting in place. Due to poor town planning a number of Lagos roads are not motorable; a lot of Lagosians don't own cars; the traffic is already terrible even to drive in the shortest distances; these are massive sources of livelihood for a lot of Lagosians; etc. So alternatives, particularly in the inner roads are imperative for this to have a reasonable chance of success. Personally, I think the govt should have rather considered more regulation/control of these guys than outright ban. |

Yinibixema:I tell you. He to be buried tomorrow. They should ban all bikes from all Lagos local governments. They have done more harm than good. He got married exactly two months and the next day.... He was killed by a reckless opay rider. The bassstard jumped off.... Left my friend to die. |

Okada van, we will survive it, but keke? That's wickedness. Do they expect us to start trekking from Ikeja under bridge to GRA or Allen? These people don't think I swear |

AngryIgboMan:You are a heartless person, sir Hope you will provide jobs for those poor Keke and Okada riders? You wrote such a long note just to show your hatred for people that are simply trying to survive in this jungle called Nigeria That's bad |

Although the okadas and keke-marwa operators can be a thorn in the flesh of other road users, I think the government can use common sense to find a way to make everyone coexist without much hassle. Have they provided jobs for the many that would be rendered jobless? Good idea but execution is zero |

I saw this coming. When Opay riders go gather for one location like ants creating traffic jam in the name of looking for customers, I no say water go soon pass gari. The way keke and go dey harass car owners for VI, u will think dey get extra life. Let see how it goes anyway |

AngryIgboMan:Wow. This is a lengthy piece. I read it all and for the tirst time I enjoyed it and read it all over again. Though Im a Northerner, you have reminded me that Nigeria still have great and super intelligent Igbos like you. Well done for this piece. You have spoken the mind of 100% car owners. This is what we go through on a daily basis with those unruly bike and rickshaw riders. |

the major inner roads in Ikorodu haven't been fixed now that the drainages and roads are dry. Instead of you people to try to correct those anomalies all over Lagos, u'r looking for ways of increasing our daily stress |

TruthHurts100:Until you realize that black Africans are the most wicked of all races until you realize the wickedness of the black race, you will still be vulnerable to their wickedness. The black is the most wicked of the human race - No wonder they are called BLACKS The least the nigger could do was help take him to the hospital or rally support. In another story few years ago a man was dieing and ppl came and were stealing from him instead of helping. |

I am waiting for the 2nd phase which I hope will include Mushin-Isolo-Oke afa-Jakande gate-Egbe-Ikotun. If you see the way Okadas operate on these routes, you will feel sorry for Lagos. It is absolutely riotous, to say the least! |

0monnak0da:I am sorry but using London has reference to your point was a bit I won’t say dumb. Is the Lagos state government willingly to get buses in this route? You talked about buses and taxis. How about the ones that can afford to take taxis? Like someone said up there, Lagos should stop using first world template. We are still a third world country. |
