brexit:
Our soldiers show their strength when they see civilians but a single terrorist can bring 100 of them down in a second, what a show of shame and naivety

They are replicating their C-in-C who bragged and raved about defeating Boko Haram before he was elected in 2015 for change from the weak bloody civilian Jonathan.
The only change has been the bragging by Femi Adeshina that we should be thankful for less bombs. shocked
Instead of defeating Boko Haram, they are beating up civilians upandan.

I am really worried about the increasing death toll... cry

Buhari said: “If you elect me as the President of Nigeria on February 14 (now March 28), I am assuring you that our government will chase Boko Haram out of Nigeria within two months because it is the responsibility of any reasonable government to secure the lives and property of its citizens.”

This are stories that should interest the Presidency but they will be more interested in Transparency International's rating of Nigeria in their corruption index.

Failed administration.

Very sad story.
They should simply get a good lawyer.
Some soldiers actually think they are gods!
and what has/is your president doing about some force men thinking and acting like gods?

Aba is a bad place to be... really, you don't want to be in the soldiers bad books, that place is somewhere even the most dreaded "cartel man" would definitely not want to be... from all indications, oga was detained in the almighty Ngwa High School. Headquarters of Operation Python Dance

Have you petitioned the army headquarters to explain your ordeal, with your medical record and other evidence that can buttress your case?

If possible, involve a normal Nigerian lawyer to take up the case of identifying the culprits.

he should make an official report to the Military HQ in Abuja. With the media interest he will gain some grounds for justice. Not doing anything would never solve the problem

Bt why do civilians especially in Nigeria feel they have to disrespect or not acknowledge military personnel’s with atleast sm respect like they wud to any respectable persons. The military are not to be overly respected bt neither shud they be looked down on or unduly disrespected.

Yes many of them take things out of hand bt this usually starts from when they feel or observe undue disrespect. It’s not right for them to react that way however bt that’s majorly it.

Abroad when they see the military amongst them they still acknowledge them just that they won’t react badly to any disrespect cos they are more knowledgeable and hv adjusted/evolved to right laws and approach to situations.

Something in my mind is telling me this guy is lying... Soldiers might be truly brutal but not to the extent of doing nothing and they'll just take you off to their base and torture you... You or one of your cousins must have done something to trigger their anger!!! Abeg talk true

Hmmm. A black American colleague of mine walked up to me just last week asking bout travel details to Nigeria. I asked her why she intended travelling to Nigeria and she said she traced her ancestral roots to Nigeria-Togo and she already bought tickets for herself and 3 kids. She needed help with someone to take her around.

I told her point blank: don't visit Nigeria, visit somewhere else. I told her that even the police can kidnap you in Nigeria and ask for ransom.

Before you start throwing insults, I'm a nigerian like you and if you still decide to insult me, I won't be bothered. Afterall, I said the truth.

There is the Boko Haram @ Borno, there is the Boko Haram in the civilian population- soldiers. If the story is true, why brutalize the harmless, unarmed person you are to protect? Why is it your power surges around the civilian population? When real action is happening at the theater of war? - Sambisa. The military is saddle basically to provide external defense, but when they start playing the role of the police over the civilians, then the handshake has gone beyond the elbow. I wish this issue gets to the right quarter, so that the bad eggs be court marshalled.

Depends on where she goes, if she goes to Abuja or Lagos she would be fine. Going to places like Aba, Port Harcourt or anywhere up north is a bad idea.

For every bad Nigerian there are many more who are trustworthy. Don't let you myopic viewpoint stop someone from reconnecting with Nigeria.
