Personally I would buy anything Nigerian EXCEPT fire trucks. There is a certification that the pumps, valves, hoses and nozzles after to meet that I am sure INNOSON can not beat for now.

Fore trucks are fast reaction, reliable service vehicles. You start the pump it must be ready in 30secs. You open a tap, water must flow You roll a hose, it must move quickly.

Car manufacturers dont even make fire trucks. It is specialized manufacturers who build them around a chassis they buy from truck manufacturers.

Oyo State Gov is an engineer so he knows things that are critical.
You made sense though using of local products make for improvements.

You are just making up a name to fit the description of what you see. There's no such thing as a mini firetruck. This is a fire engine as long as firefighting is concerned, and I can bet you that these vehicles are not heavy-duty trucks specially designed to handle large fires or even pump water for longer periods without damaging the pump casing.
oga, that is a mini fire truck. A company in China produces them also. Yes they cannot handle large fires.

It's called Rapid Intervention Vehicle. And it's not the same as a fire engine. The same function of the rapid intervention vehicle is carried out by a water tanker (also known as water tender) that can be used to fight fire (but is not also the same as a fire engine). Don't teach me something you know nothing about.

You are the one that knows nothing about fire trucks or engines. All fire fighting vehicles are referred to as Fire trucks.

A rapid intervention vehicle is a type of fire truck.

I mentioned FIRE ENGINE. You are ignorant and numb to correction. I won't reply your unreasonable argument anymore.

They should emulate kano and develop the east... Was in the east November and was disappointed
Oga I was in kano and katsina last year August and September.
Aside the capital of both states nothing to show.
Come to Enugu and see for yourself.
Go to Anambra and see.

You are a very ignorant person,

A fire engine is a vehicle designed primarily for firefighting operations. The terms "fire engine" and "fire truck" are often used interchangeably; however, in some fire departments/fire services they refer to separate and specific types of vehicle

Good observation.
I'll take you back to my very first observation about the so-called fire engine created by IVM. By size, it doesn't qualify to be one. A fire engine is larger. A layman would call a firefighting vehicle a fire truck, a fire appliance, firefighting vehicle, or fire engine. But firefighter knows what a fire engine looks like. It's specification is different. I have worked with both archaic and modern fire engines, as well as rapid intervention vehicles and even water tenders which you would probably call water tanker.

Its not just about fixing and fitting materials to create something that looks like a good vehicle. A lot of research work with data about terrain, climate, and temperature is considered before creating a fire engine. It is a delicate work and I don't think many African countries have the resources to create standard modern firefighting trucks. I'm not being pessimistic about this. I've seen substandard equipment breakdown and fail, and then they start blaming firefighters.

I wish IVM all the best, but honestly, even the Hilux vehicles we've been using for years still function better than the IVM pickup truck we started using less than 2 yrs ago. True story.
