to the idots comparing lajos to japan and all those major cities, do you know that they have better alternatives like very luxurious bus with ac? they have very luxurious trains, bullet trains and even taxis?
before you come spewing trash do a little research.

If walking to work is a major task, and the city buses are not sufficient at this time, why not do as many in Asia do, and ride a peddle bike?

Car pooling to the rescue.

Setting out that early has not really been safe from the get go anyways. From kidnappers to one chance robbers.

I think taxify has an option for making multiple stops. 4 people can meet at a bus stop, book a ride, share the cost and drop at their individual destinations.

QED.

Right, this will force Lagosians to become more creative in ways to get around the city, and actually generate more sound business opportunities in the State. Uber and Lyft operations should rapidly grow. People could create personal car pooling operations to generate revenue. People can begin to use peddle bikes to get around on a greater level, as is the case in many Asian nations. Great change is rarely ever accomplished by grace, but rather most often by force.

Bikes and Kèke Marwa have been banned in the whole of Apapa LG. I feel so sorry for the people who live and work there, but do not have their own cars.

Sanwo-Olu' has thrown them into double jeopardy.
apapa is still motorable to a point.. but for tincan it's impossible.. I'm going with my car today and I can never go past mile2 with my car.. Will I now treck to tincan.. today go mad gaan

I was at Costain today and saw how neat the environment was as at the time I was around. People had to walk to various places bike or Keke would have dropped them. Lagos has tried. Lagos is not a dumping ground of Nigeria and West Africa region. Firstly, around 2004/2005, Okada was banned from Abuja. Law Enforcement Agencies declared war on Okada riders in Abuja metropolis, they left. I am not sure they are back since then. Later, some states banned Okada from State capitals. One thing is this, each time Okada is banned from a state, the population of Okada in Lagos will increase. Benin, Togo and Arewa from Chad, Niger also joined our brothers here and the Boko Haram in the North East also contributed to migration. These people complained things are hard, but the President, Vice President and National Assemblies are at Abuja, On NTA adverts, they said Abuja is both Political and Economic capital of Nigeria, then the burden and pressure of the economy should be carried at Abuja where the cake is being shared. Rather than creating nuisance in Lagos because of economic hardship, it is better to create it at Abuja where the rulers of Nigeria will see them or alternatively, they should go back to their State Capitals where Okada has been banned or allowed to practice their trade.

Every January, Lagos burden increases from new people coming into Lagos. Whenever Okada ban is lifted in Abuja, Lagos may consider lifting the ban as well.

You didn't add they should hasten/create more sea ports. They can decongest Lagos by doing that. Yea, Lagos shouldnt be carrying 70% of the nation's economy...other viable ports should be opened for business....abi suffer no dey tire Lagos?

So people were not living and working in Apapa LG before Okada and Keke started plying those routes?
Are you okay? Have you lived and worked in Apapa over the past 15 years?

Can't you see how the roads in Apapa have decayed and become horrible, due to tankers, trailers and trucks parking on either side of the major roads?

Do you realise the hazards thqtt the roads of Apapa have become? The only thing that could make you avoid traffic gridlock in Apapa, were the Okadas and Kèke Marwa.

For some of us, we had to resort to taking boats to get to Apapa, in order to avoid the bad roads and traffic hold up.

And you are here saying crap?

Lol Only a fool or one of your village people would believe you've traveled to anywhere near "most" Asian Countries to to mention cities. Stop the lies and your words will be taken more credibly.

Abuja has been the capital for almost 30 years
If okada is not good enough for Abuja it is not good enough for Lagos

If employment is the issue They should go to the FG in Abuja or their home states

When Abuja became capital there was no Okada in Lagos so why is it now that Lagos state is responsible for employment of all Nigerians?
