Good days mothers. It's been long I came in here, please I have a problem. How do I manage reflux in my 7 weeks old baby? I feed him in bits and burp him but before the belch comes out the milk comes out. I've tried sitting him upright in a position for long also but it doesn't seem to work. Please if you experienced this how else did you manage it? It's getting to my nerves. Thanks

Ds had it too and I tried all the above mentioned but didn't stop. I had to wait it out
He's own lasted till almost 2yrs. But it has finally stopped now
You just have to wait it out, and try to avoid it as much as possible by doing all you listed above.

Please how did you ensure he takes enough food? Before now I was very sure he's taking enough until it got bad yesterday, like he vomited almost everything he took though that has happened only once today.

Yes o, stopped at about 22mths. Altho it reduced b4 then.
It wasn't easy esp. Since he's a slow gainer. Tried everything you mentioned earlier, they probably helped a bit but didn't stop it. We also ensured we didn't let other people feed him. Just DH and I handled feeding even till we introduced solids which wasn't easy at all.

Just ensure you feed him in bits and take short breaks inbetween. Also reduce quantity of each feed and maybe increase the number of feeds.
Think it will stop earlier than ours cause we used to experience it more than 1ce daily. And if we go a day without Vomitting it was really a big deal for me

Thanks so much for this I appreciate. I know it's not going to be easy if it's going to last for long, cos he will be starting creche in few weeks time that's why I'm particularly concerned. I pray they are able to handle him well.
Please is it reflux that makes his tummy rumble a lot? cos it really does.
kiss kiss to your DS also

Am a ftm, what food do you recommend for a baby of 3 months

nothing but breastmilk and formula.

note: if you are giving formula, please give water also to avoid constipation and endeavour to follow the feeding instructions

My dear, congratulations first, reflux can be frustrating, however try to feed baby little by little, like 5 mins burp and then continue, till you establish what works for you both.
This phase will soon come to pass

All the baby needs now is breastmilk and formula. If you're struggling to afford milk, you can wait until he's 4 months, and start giving occasional pap. The pap doesn't contain most nutrients needed by the baby so don't start feeding him only pap, still breastfeed and give formula alingside. At 5-6 months, you can start giving him softer versions of what you eat (not indomie or junk foods o). Be patient, you're almost there. More grease to your elbow.

Give her a few tea spoons of freshly squeezed oranges.

Subsequently increase her water intake particularly if she’s on formula!

Thanks love. I tell you it can be really frustrating though I've discovered expressing to feed with cup and spoon works for us a bit so we are on that for the time being. We will continue to find ways out. This too shall pass.

Sounds like diastasis recti and it’s common in women who had multiples. Please avoid sit-ups, planks and the likes as they will further facilitate the separation of your abdominal walls. You can google exercises that can help

Belly wraps can help and of course teas like aju mbaise can help as well

The vaccine is to protect your baby against the virus. Pls go ahead and administer the vaccine . It's expensive but worth it

Most parents give but give once in a while, they are sugary. I personally don't like it, we take greek yoghurt mostly, I blend in fruits and sweeten with honey. Although I give ribena once a week or once in two weeks.

Okay thank you. I'd be giving him smoothies then to take to school so he doesn't have to take yoghurt or juice everyday.

Goodevening everyone. Am a ftm although my baby is 16mths . My bone of contention is this, my baby has been taking golden morn since he was 9mths old. Although now i try to limit it to breakfast or mid morning brunch or sth i give to him when wr are in a public place. I was recently told GM is not suitable for infants younger than 3yrs(didn't know).
I tried giving him pap ge rejected it, oatmeal he rejected it too. Right now am stuck i want to stop giving him GM but i neef suggestions for alternative cereal for his age.
PS he is already eating adult food, he enjoys it too i just want an alternative for him.
