Ejide is not a bad goalkeeper.

What caused him to begin to play second fiddle to Enyeama was his lack of composure.

While a very young Enyeama was full of confidence even against England that had the likes of Beckham, Scholes, Owen, and Heskey, Ejide could not control his nerves against even lowly rated teams.

The same problem he had is what Akpeyi is having presently in the Super Eagles. Akpeyi is not a bad goalkeeper too, but his constant stage fright has caused him to play second fiddle to a number of goalkeepers such as Vanzekin (in 2004 U-20 World Cup and 2008 Olympics) and to a much younger and inexperienced Uzoho (2018 World Cup).

I am sorry to say that Ejide has had his chances, and failed to take any of them. Enyeama saw his chance and took it with both hands and history will remember him as one of the greatest goalkeepers out of Africa.
