After going through the advice of nairalanders in the above thread, I decided to follow my heart and propose to the woman I love so much.

Towards the end of December last year, I arranged for a meeting with her at a major eatery in my state of domicile. She excitedly obliged to my request.

We agreed to meet by 12noon by my phone beeped around 11am and behold it was her message Informing me that she was already at the venue waiting for me. I was excited and hurriedly dressed up to meet her.

She looked so beautiful in her dress and I was excited. We exchanged pleasantries and she Crowned it with a kiss on my cheek, a gesture she hasn't extended to me prior to this time. I felt relaxed.

We placed our orders and before I could do anything, she handed her ATM to the waiter to pay the bills. I protested but she insisted and I succumbed.

We hard a good conversation like we never did. Then, I decide to propose again. I wanted to go with a ring but I was scared she would say no again and embarrass me in the public. So, I simply told her how much I love and cherish her but could not understand why she turned me down two times without explanation.

Before I could say more, she stretched forth her fingers and asked me to put the ring that she's ready to marry me now, having tested my love and persistence towards her. She told me she felled in love with me a very long time ago but she was very scared of being hurt the second time so she kept hiding her feelings towards me. This was her reason for saying no to my two proposals.

I told her I didn't come with any ring because I was not sure what her reaction would be. She said it's fine that the ring is just an outward expression of what we share. That, moment, we got officially engaged and that was the best moment of my life.

Then, I broke the news of my travel plans to her and she broke down in tears but after my assurance to her that I was going to come back to marry her in less than two years, she wished me well and told me she would commit suicide if I disappoint her emotions. She told me how much she had expected my third proposal after being convinced that I am the right man for her.

I remember how recently she has been very curious to know whom I'm going out with. I remembered how she always insinuate carrying my child.

I'm so happy that I'll be married to my best friend and the only woman that meets my criteria for a wife.

So, nairalanders, never give up on what you want untill you either get it or lose it completely.

After the op travel out, their love wax stronger and stronger everyday, the can't wait to see each other again and execute their wedding plans.
