I am with the preacher on this. The National Assembly is the famer that will milk his cow till it dies. Can Nigeria afford to keep paying these clowns for sitting in their chairs and nodding off or saying Aye and Nay? |

"...What we earn as legislators is not comparable to the enormous responsibilities that we face on daily basis in our constituencies." This has to be the most idiotic, moronic, stupid, and fallacious statement to come from an elected official. 5 Likes |

Msheww Politicians sef The state of our country today abeg tell me Is it the fault of politicians or the pastors? Are the pastors responsible of insecurity? Are the pastors responsible for producing a federal appointments dat only cares about their selfish purpose? Are the pastors responsible for our poor economy? Look at Abacha, after 21 yrs he died we are still depending on him to fund our budget. Is he a pastor? Please God just kill all our politicians so that they will be sending us money like Abacha 1 Like |

I don't even know who to blast out of the. The GO is right yet the lawmakers are right. You can't build schools that the poor in your churches can't attend. You can't fly private jet when your members are trekking all their lives. Yes you can help by releasing certain percent of tithes and offerings to national development. But come to think of it, even If the pastors and GOs are willing to contribute to national purse tell me if the monies won't be diverted and siphoned by this hungry lions in the house? Why can't they cut their pay but always think of increment at any slight opportunity. What are they really doing in their various constituencies that warranted the pay rise or what they are earning presently. We are in a situation of economy brouhaha. Every sane government should think of cutting cost and not increasing same. Who am I to discuss further. Both the lawmakers and the GOs are to be blamed and in other news, they both speak out what is true. We are in soup in this country! 1 Like |

Truth be told, this is a case of thief advising another thief to reduce his operations. Nigerian pastors of today have no moral right to condemn Nigerian politicians, they are of the same breed. 2 Likes

The church has done more in our society than our government has done. The standard of education in church owned private schools can't be compared to the rubbish the government gives. Churches are now involved in corporate social responsibility, a case study of the health centres and medical devices the RCCG provides and the road the Winners chapel constructs. These law makers should just point to three meaningful constituency project, let me see. There was a time my church saw to the chemotherapy and dialysis of two members who couldn't afford it. The church has now needed to draw a line between "charity" (which should not be broadcasted and put in camera) and social responsibility to please its attackers. The church will keep matching on and the gate of hell can never and will never prevail against it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

See the logic of the lawmakers. If reducing our salaries will not solve problem of budget funding, then leave salaries as they are. Animals in human skin dem. |

Fasindo: Adeboye is a private citizen like both of us, not an elected public servant!!! Maybe you don't know or can't tell the difference. Adeboye and his fellow clergymen don't compel people to part with their hard-earned money, neither does he have the power to cut from salaries in the name of VAT, PAYE, and other ridiculous forms of taxes most Nigerians currently pay to fund the lavish lifestyles of the imbecilic lawmakers talking trash above.... If penitents or laity choose to enrich their clergy, that's their fvcking business or choice! This has nothing to do with national development... These same individuals or church members also pay taxes to the government coffers... If the church is using their own "taxes" judiciously, who is stopping the government and her officials from using their collections, including crude oil sales, loots recovered, etc, judiciously??!... I dislike religion... But, it's pure idiocy to equate religious excesses to gross failure of elected governments. 4 Likes |

I say again. A time is coming when the goverment will begin to fear the people not people living in terror at the feet of goverment, when we will have truly transited from feudalism to democracy. I say again. It is not because British lawmakers donot love to ride 50million naira SUV's at taxpayers expense or the American lawmaker doesn't need ten car convoys and a dozen gun totting militiamen in tow... but the fear of him who pays for it all will confine them to economy class. The days of so called public servants worshipped by those they claim to serve is surely coming to an end. All we need is more poverty, more oppression, more desperation to make it happen. You can see goverment falling over themselves to get visa bans lifted. Why. They love us.... No.... when you see a snake in your room. As you grab a stick you also open the door to allow it escape just im case you cannot kill it. 1 Like |
