Bros I wouldnt doubt it.. These fools need to stop with this nonsense.

If I had my way, I would make them stick to the idigenes law that they need to share 50% ownership with a local. If they refuse shut their businesses and send them home..

now u sounding like South African ....

No there is a difference, South Africans want something for nothing and are unprepared to work.

Can you tell me that a native Nigerians be they Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa would be incapable of doing what these foreign groups are doing here?

Were it not for our foolish elites awarding foreigners inflated contracts, native Nigerians could perform these jobs with ease. How many unemployed graduates do we have looking for work.

Mtcheww our elders have failed us. Look at the new Oshodi exchange in Lagos, that was built by a native Nigerian company with local workers. Thank god whoever was in charge of that contract saw sense to hand it to a local.

Look at Alikio Dangotte at the other end of the spectrum. How many useless foreigners from Lebanese to worthless Indians have promised us refineries/power stations etc. They simply took the money awarded to them and made excuses then ran home. It took a black Native Nigerian to finish the job mtcheww..

Mumu that is the difference, now sharrap..

According to our findings, the containers were moved from Apapa Port to their Ibeju Lekki office of the company without Customs escorts and no 100 per cent examination of the containers were carried out by the Customs in their premises as specified by the fast track guidelines.

This statement shows it is the NCS that is incompetent. They allowed the shipment move without excort, then failed to go to the coys premises for inspection. Now they are shouting fraud?

Fast track is a good policy , instead of blaming the Indians the customs should look into it's corrupt officers who are the ones that allow the Indians to evade the proper tax in exchange for kick backs

That's just the basis.

What about over invoicing and under invoicing just to circumvent trade policy .

The officers are to be questioned because they must have compromise heavily with Indian companies.

The fallacy of generalisation. How can the writer qualify all indian companies as fraudulent whereas only one company has been shown to be non-compliant.

Very poor and unethical reporting! There is no need for the Indian generalisation considering that corruption in Nigeria knows not skin color, religion, country of origin or ethnicity.

Lets look inwards for our solutions rather than blaming the entire subcontinent of India for our whoes. The government should also investigate these allegations and punish the companies involved.

So sad we had a law in place just like Dubai. But again our useless elders let it slide because of greed and laziness.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Enterprises_Promotion_Decree

I would put it back into operation immediately. It for example was responsible for all of Nigeria's major banks being run by native Nigerians compared to other nations in Africa..

It is peculiar to most importers, and not just the Indians owned conglomerates.

The loop holes in the Fastrack system couldn't have been exploited without active connivance and involvement of Custom officers.

Blame the government regulators, and not the players in the industry.

I think the company involved is The Tolaram Group.

All of that can’t be successful without the aid of a senior officer in the customs, they have gone to collect bribe... greedy and selfishness will not allow the nation to grow nonsense, if a Nigerian businessman tries this in their country it’s jail straight away.

How do they evade tax without the assistance of some cursed ,idi.otic nigerians who cannot live without bribe. Imagine the curry smelling MFs coming to your country to cheat you in every way and you support them. They won't pay tax, they won't pay workers well and they still won't buy anything without begging for discounts like cursed animals. They just want things for free. The Nigerian govt needs to beam their light on all Indian companies in nigeria, those guys are extremely corrupt MFs. And the useless authority won't mention and expose the corrupt Indian companies because they still want to go collect bribe from them.

Beware of this news!.

I came in to read concrete proof of abuse but the report has no substance. This's most likely a smear campaign by a rival company against hard working Indians.

No substance. Indians are very manipulative but whatever they have to do things is always in connivance with Nigerians. I worked with them for good 10 years and I know a lot that goes.

There are some officers in customs that can clear human beings loaded in container once they see good cash . A lot of cases comes to mind .

The Nigerian government that instituted such policy ought to know that such policies are amenable to abuse especially when it comes to countries like India and Lebanon...both countries that are as corrupt as Nigeria with such get-over mentality.
