Thank you very much, I would like to know how long this process could take and how much it would cost.
Innunique:

if you still have a photocopy of your data page as your passport number is needed, thats a good start. Then on the portal use the "Apply for Re-issue of Lost/Stolen or Damaged Passport" and proceed with your application.

I have applied for my passport since November 26th, and I have not gotten it. Its beginning to look fishy as my link keeps saying they dont have booklets yet, then he said they have only printed to 21st of November. This is annoying. Has anyone gone through this? Does it really take this long?

Applied 23rd, captured 31st January to collect 5th Feb.

when you get there just go straight to the Servicom office to start the process as they will put you through; arrange your documents in a NIS official File jacket, tell you what to do and where to go. all signing and stampings and Capturing was done in the "LONGROOM".a process that took less than an 1:30hr.
Always ask them politely, put up a warm smile and be courteous in your approach, they are humans too don't forget.
Documents to take along:

*Original and a photocopy of your Birth cert,
*a photocopy of your State of origin cert
*NIN Slip as you will fill it's number on your application and there also, on a form you would be given to complete.
* A copy of your Application form
*A copy payment slip,
* A copy of Acknowledgement slip,
*A Filled guarantor's form with his/her passport photograph signed behind and duly notorised at any of the mentioned court.

Guarantor's form:
Filled guarantor's form, part I(a) was filled, part II was left blank, part III was filled and the commissioner's oath part was done at a magistrate court.
* A Photocopy of Guarantor's Data page of passport(not expired) and a photocopy of his/her driver's license.

Fees:
25k for passport
1k for sanaapay
1k for notary public stamp on guarantor's form, done in the court.

If you haven't done your NiN, don't worry you can do it over there as they have an office there (endeavour to go very early, as the queue for it can be tiring. it took me from 8am to 2pm to get it done there, while the passport process was just from past 2pm to past 3pm).
When you are going through with the NIN capturing, on your confirmation screen, look at the bottom left corner of your screen, you will see your newly generated NIN number, u can copy it down and fill it up on the NIS document you will be given there to complete.

good evening chief, pls I have some questions
1. I don't have birth certificate, can I replace that with an affidavits?
2. my guarantor have an international passport but doesn't have drivers license so pls can he use voters card?

thanks for the swift response in advance.....

Just to confirm that Servicom works!

We did most of the process today within 1 hour, but the network was down and payment couldn't be confirmed. They said they would work on it overnight and we should return to capture tomorrow. Renewal...not fresh issue and had our NIN already. Thanks for the info and for sharing your experience.

Edit: returned next day, captured.

Go Servicom!!!

My Ikoyi Passport experience

I made sure i had all the required documents and made payment online before embarking on my journey. I applied online on the 29th of November and my interview was fixed for 9th of December. Tried rescheduling the date online but the website was not cooperating so i was stuck with the date.
I got to ikoyi passport office around 10am. went straight to the court office within the compound and stamped my guarantors form. headed to servicom and was directed to a lady on the last cubicle (cant remember the unit). She went through my documents and gave me a new document to photocopy and fill. found my way out of the compound to do photocopy (this cost N50/page ). Came back with the filled form and a white file folder (as i was told here to buy) and she flung the file away. She brought out the "Federal Republic of Nigeria, Nigeria Immigration Service" file and put my documents in them and then she duly signed and directed me to another servicom desk where the lady also penned her signature where necessary and then sent me on my way to start verification.
Here, there are long cubicles with NIS officers behind the cubicle glasses. At the first attendant, there was just one NIS errand girl in front of me with a "white file" but before i could blink, there were upto 10 files that has been pushed to the NIS attendant from different errand officers through a hole on the glass. I also slid my file through the hole and got the shock of my life. The NIS officer dumped all the white files and attended to my file and gave it back to me.

I went through the stages without any issues until the last stage where the attendant requested i add the guarantor's valid i.d. I called my guarantor who sent me a picture of his drivers licence. I printed and attached to my file and returned the file which was duly endorsed.
At each stage, i was questioned on my how i know the guatantor, if you can confirm this if called, why we bear same names(coincidence durh ) and so on but i was ready for them.

I was directed to the capture room where i gave my file to another attendant and took a seat on the seat queue. I also got another shocker here as people without files i.e people who joined the queue while their errand officers did their verification for them were sent out of the capture room to wait outside..
It got to my turn, i did my capture and returned the file to the servicom desk.
In and out was not up to 3 hours.

Now waiting on my brand new official ePassport.

Worthy of note is that we were very few with the NIS file (i counted a total of 3) and we all got premium treatment.
We have all gotten used to doing things the wrong way that doing it the right way now seems foreign to us. I didn't pay an extra dime nor did anyone request. process was actually faster for the NIS file holders and above all, since i entered all my details myself online, my data would actually be correct

Thanks so much for sharing. The info was so valuable and on point.

People will not understand the power of the brown file and servicom unless they visit Ikoyi passport office!!!

Looking forward to collection.

Congrats

Please, did you go there for collection on Feb 5 and were you told to come back today or you just took your time?

My wife captured on Monday, February 10th and was told to come for pick up today, February 13th. She got there 12pm and left 5pm but was not given her passport.

She said they were all asking for the contact person/officer who helped her but she replied she did it herself. After 5 hours she was told it's not ready. Her request is renewal cum name change.

House, it is possible it's not ready truly or they just want to frustrate her efforts because she did it herself?

Please, what is the office Twitter handle of NIS? I will like to escate this.

Thanks

Anytime she's asked for her contact she should say self-processing, most of them would be glad to help. If it's Ikeja office then it's not ready, but it should, if it's Ikoyi.

You can complain as well as make enquiry about your passport on twitter. If you still have your enrollment number it will be better to ask them if the passport is ready rather than complain, if it's out then you can. I can't remember their twitter handle, you can google search or someone might help with that but it's like nigimmigration

you are so lucky, i did my capturing on Tuesday collection date is tomorrow, the woman already told me on Tuesday no booklet, called my mums friend today, he told me they don't have booklet, now I am regretting doing online, Asaba NIS office is so fraudulent, when booklet comes they print for people who paid exorbitantly, then self processed applications are being abandoned, I don't even know if I should go tomorrow, this system is so flawed...and to think I need my passport urgently, as in u need to see the way their staff were ignoring and carrying their faces like i killed someone, this is horrible. Asaba NIS office is a disaster, should I even go sef, am willing to pay extra now. Crazy country

I was alausa yesterday for capturing, you won't believe I couldn't find my file....later around 3pm, I was told my file is still in confirmation/verification room ....after a week....d whole system is rigged...

I was told to come back on Friday but I will wait for another 7 days , that is when I will show them my madness if my file is not yet ready..

*Is it a crime to pay online? If they don't fancy the online stuff, they should remove it from the official site ..

First thing they will ask you is (is it self processing) just say YES and watch how the officials will leave you like you don't exist at all.....some will even tell you to leave the office and stay outside, trust me they won't attend to you no more unless you Roger them.....

I almost got angry yesterday.....This country is messed up....

I will go back next Wednesday to see if they are truly crazy ...

grin cheesy cheesy

Sorry about that, the DIY approach is kinda stressful but it might be getting better, especially in the Lagos(Ikoyi) office, since you've paid please try and go again.

@DadR: In addition to the suggestion from Lekan, you can also check with servicom online to know if the passport is ready for collection before going, I was initially scheduled for collection on Tuesday but I asked them on WhatsApp and they said it wasn't ready yet so I decided to wait until next week.

olalekan9320:

Yh, I think biggest challenge is the lack of information around the DIY approach and a lot of people are willing to pay more in anticipation of fast processing.

Sorry for what you went through, unfortunately you can't change to Ikoyi, do they have a servicom office there?

Maybe they can help ease the process a little bit.

I already knew something wasn't right when they told you to come back another day for capturing, it's something that can easily be completed in an hour but corruption won't allow them.

I understand how you feel but don't pay extra, you might pay extra and self processing would still be faster. If anyone should directly or indirectly ask for more money please note the person's name and inform them on twitter. You can tweet them on twitter to be sure there's no booklet truly. If it's not urgent you might not need to go tomorrow until you have been told to do so on their twitter page, they are very responsive.

You have to go to Federal secreteriat, Aba road.
I don't know how well the DIY ish works here in PH. They always have issues with booklet and it's not even available now but they are expecting in 2 weeks- they will most likely settle those who went through agents first.
I heard some people that applied months ago haven't gotten theirs.
