It's not easy to contain a previously unknown disease that's easy to transmit, especially with the range of human movement and interactions every second of every day.

That it was so quickly identified as a novel virus is commendable. That the epicenter and prime host were also identified so quickly is amazing.

That they build 1000-bed hospitals in 6 days is remarkable

Imagine if this has happened in a third world country...by now millions would've died and tens of millions would've been infected and dying with the government unable to identify it talk more of containing it.

While I don't trust the mortality and infection numbers from the Chinese government, the fact that the virus seems to be largely confined to parts of china and slowing down is a good sign.
