seunmsg:I didn't see you complain about technicalities when the supreme court threw out osun's case because a judge was not present on a particular day. I think dat is even worse than this matter where APC deliberately shot itself in the foot. |

seunmsg:That technical issue is exactly what kept our country where it is today! In this case, the technical issue could have been prevented or even avoided. Political parties should introduce strong background checks for their candidates. SIMPLE! |

Agboriotejoye:So you prefer the PDP era where the government of the day intervened in court rulings when it doesn't favour PDP? Please give it to Buhari that he doesn't interfere or bully judges to rule on behalf of his party. If it was PDP era would Mary Odili, the wife of a PDP chieftain, head a panel on election matters concerning a nearby state of Bayelsa while she has always been perceived to be sympathetic to PDP? Never! Buhari might have its flaws but certainly not what you painted up there. Thank you |

My comments on the fact that joint ticket helps each other in an election, between the governor elect and his deputy that forge cert. nobody knows if the deputy gathered more vote that gave them victory therefore supreme court was right in their decision. It is high time our politicians will be thought lessons they will never forget and that deputy must be arrested and prosecuted to serve as lesson to future politicians that may like to tow Same part! |

After all is said and done, INEC that cleared the Deputy Governor elect get away with in competence. The same INEC has cleared many only for the court to expose INEC sham clearance. Thereafter the forged certificate holder also is not prosecuted. In sane clime, the former deputy governor elect would be in court but not in zoo land Nigeria. He goes scot free like every politician accused of similar crime. We don't know nothing in this country. |

seunmsg:You see why I don't pray for Nigeria again? So someone cheats in a game and wins and you insist the process is nothing but the outcome should be considered? How stupid our country is. So, you prefer a cheat who forged common first school leaving and WASSCE certificate to lead you? We are finished Though I am of the opinion that the ills of the deputy should not affect that of the Governor himself as Nigeria doesn't have a good database to verify facts; so how would Lyon have known the running mate forged documents? |

post=86634593:You should at least make a mild attempt at objectivity. How do you say your Oga allowed the independence of the Judiciary and does not interfere with its workings with his single-handed removing of the CJN without recourse to the NJC as the Constitution and extant laws stipulate? You accused a PDP regime of declaring elections as do or die, abi? But your Oga too said the blood of dogs and that of baboons would mix should he not win the 2015 polls, while his opponent said his own ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians. And BH has continued to shed blood till today. Do you remember what happened in Ekiti and Osun and Kwara where the services of MC Oluomo combined with soldiers and police to physically and violently deprive the people from voting their choices? Do you remember how under PMB in the last elections soldiers and police turned the state into a war zone with attendant loss of lives in their failed attempt to rob the people of their votes for Wike? Under this regime was where the billions expended on training INEC officers on direct posting of results from the card-reader to the central server was rubbished just to clean up the perfidy of the presidential elections. Old boy, you live in a glass house, stop trowing stones, abeg! |

Okoroawusa:You're just blabbing with no substance. I guess the onnoghen issue happened during PDP era abi. It remains an incontrovertible fact that after OBJ, Yar'adua and GEJ after him improved on our electoral processes. Go and check. 2011 and 2015 elections had less tribunal cases. You can show us how Buhari's govt has improved our elections You can also point me to a situation where the PDP interfered in the courts so brazenly as was done in Imo. Even osun state was a miscarriage of justice. Mind you, PDP was in govt when Ayo Salami was nullifying election results in favour of then ACN and other parties between 2008- 2012. Don't be blinded by politics |

post=86634593:"b]A President once told us in this country that the coming polls would be do or die" Exactly like your daddy told us baboons will be soaked in blood and young corpers lost their lives yet oga wasn't remorseful. Tell us about Auno. Now it's the leaders of Borno who knows about BH? People whom will never take responsibility |

Nigeria is among the wonders of the world. The same supreme court that affirmed the election of our president despite not having a certificate, disqualified another for having a forged certificate. Supreme Court: In Nigeria, its better to contest election without a certificate than to forge one. Inec: You must possess a legit certificate to be eligible for an election. You as a citizen, What do you think? |
| Re: Bayelsa: Lawyers differ on Supreme Court’s ouster of David Lyon by CanadaOrBust: 8:39am On Feb 14, 2020 |
nzeobi:They also said nothing about “the required constitutional geographical spread of votes.” INEC literally gave him certificate the next day carefully making sure NOT to release final tally of votes (because they know they’d be laughed at!) |
| Re: Bayelsa: Lawyers differ on Supreme Court’s ouster of David Lyon by Nobody: 8:51am On Feb 14, 2020 |
It is not legally admissible to fault the Governor on fake credentials of the Deputy, it is solely the responsibility of INEC to vet and verify those Certificates before approving any nominated Candidate prior to election after verifying and confirming the credentials. INEC can not specify the Certificate Requirement of an Office, but refuses to Verify those same documents BEFORE approving the Candidate for Position. My personal submission is that even as it is, it is only the Deputy that is supposed to be disqualified and not the Governor if his own documents are good. Besides, how come Supreme Court Judges are focused on Governors and not the President who is clearly very uneducated? This country is not a home for sane minds, I think Nnamdi Kanu is right. These things can only happen in zoos, and I must apologize for the animals to even naming this a zoo. Animals are more clever than the Supreme Court judges in this case. |

DeomoviesI:I knw majority of you would twist the truth of the matter just to satisfy your inclination but disregard the mandates given to him by majority of Bayelsans Provide this situation occur to PDP then you would be crying foul by now . Its quite obvious that Dickson has embezzled the state dry despite the small landmass and being one of the major stats that generate crude oil. |

Vortex369:The law is very clear on this. You cannot contest for a governor without a running mate. In this, APC candidate does not have a running mate, that’s why the court sacked him. |
