Duly signed? Not at all sir!
The Uzodinma documents they relied on to replace an 8-month incumbent governor with a FOURTH place finisher: not only were they full of ridiculous figures that exceed number of registered voters, they were also incomplete, smudgy, full of alterations, signed only by APC, and showed results for only APC and PDP out of 70 parties!
Also INEC swore under penalty of PERJURY that they never issued those documents.

Like I said, I am not at all into politics at all, but here is what someone into Imo politics wrote:

Imo people did not vote for Hope! Hope didn't even campaign in Imo because of the APC crises between him and Rochas who was fronting his in-law, Uche Nwosu.

On the day of the election, Hope and some APC loyalists were lodged in a Hotel in Owerri writing results after INEC announced results. They brought the results and were compelling returning officer to announce but he refused that it was fake that even party reps have raised the alarm.

Also, do u at all consider the precedent set here (which lawyers will cite forever):

How hard is it to obtain INEC documents, write any result u wish, keep the carbon copies, and destroy the rest??

A person who receives no single vote can easily be declared winner and immediately replace the incumbent. All they’d have to do is present result sheets which the Supreme Court MUST accept no matter how outrageous and defective they may be, as long as no one can produce the originals!

Using that precedent, a ruling party can easily “win” any election, effectively removing any say u may have in choosing who rules you.

That’s what u r busy defending!
codedguy1

Please correct me if I am wrong. I believe INEC never produced any evidence in court as per the result.

INEC was joined in that case and should have brought their own results to verify if the result presented by Hope or even PDP was authentic.

Because PDP didn't bring a result to counter Hopes own didn't mean Hopes result was correct.

The implication to that is that INEC was complicit in knowing that Hope had presented a fake result and still kept quiet.

The court atleast at the lower Level ought to have compelled INEC to produce the authentic result so prove or disprove who was having the correct result.

Hope produced a fake result as asserted by PDP who didn't have a result to counter it and INEC kept mum.

A rerun should have been the solution in IMO.

My opinion though.

I can’t believe u folks are talking like this.
I’m not sure u read what I wrote:
How hard is it to obtain INEC documents, write any results u wish, keep the carbon copies, and destroy the rest??
Or is it that it is so hard to obtain INEC documents??
The ONLY way to checkmate that is to accept INEC’s word, UNDER OATH, that they never issued those documents!

Remember this is not just any case b4 a high court. We are talking about a case that strikes at the very core of what type of country we’d end up becoming.
IS THERE ANY LAW THAT PREVENTS U FROM EXAMINING DOCUMENTS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU??!!

Notice how the SC had to bend backwards - they carefully did not mention any figures in their judgement. Very strange when u r dealing with a case that is all about numbers!

There is a principle in law “if in doubt let the status quo stand”. You don’t replace a sitting gov with a 4th place finisher by refusing to examine documents and ignoring ridiculous numbers!

It seems we are saying the same thing in different ways.

Your last bolded statement sums it up.

But if there is an authentic result of an election, who should have it? Regardless of if anyone can get election sheet and write his own result.

Thats shy I asked if INEC testified? If they testified and authenticated the result uzodinma brought all well and good but if not why replace the gov with result brought by one of the contestants when we all know such documents can be forged easily

INEC testified under penalty of PERJURY that they canceled results for those units and that they never issued the documents presented by Hope.
(Just recently PDP won a rerun in the same areas Hope got 99.9% of votes with over 100% voter turnouts!)

Imo Guber: How Supreme court erred in computation of results

*Declared more votes than accredited voters
*Failed to interrogate petitioners’ evidence
*Avoided mentioning figures in a written judgment

Facts have emerged that the Supreme Court failed to do a thorough mathematical computation of the results of the election but relied only on the wrong computations submitted by Sen. Hope Uzodinma to declare him the duly-elected governor of Imo State...

Both the EPT and the Appeal Court dismissed the petition for lacking in merit.

By relying on the faulty tabulation made by Sen. Uzodinma, the Supreme Court arrived at a figure of 950,952 total votes cast at the election, which is more than the total votes cast at the election totalling 823,743.

This gave rise to 127,209 excess votes at the election as affirmed by the Supreme Court, which all through avoided mentioning figures regarding the votes cast for the disputants or the total registered voters and valid and invalid votes in the judgment.
——————-

This one is from Guardian (remember these numbers exclude votes scored by the other 68 Parties!):

“The Guardian obtained a certified-true-copy of the record of the appeal filed at the Supreme Court by Uzodinma and APC...

On figure number 69 which shows votes cast at Eziama/Okpala (Umualum Village Square, Eziama)
total number of registered voters =492, whereas the APC scored 819 votes
and PDP scored 7 votes,
meaning 334 more votes than registered voters!

On page 22 of the record, at the polling unit 285 (Obudi/Aro, Central Assembly Square,
registered voters = 449
APC polled 780 votes
PDP polled four votes, leaving a total of 335 votes higher than the actual number of registered voters.

Also on page 22 of the petition, polling unit 282
number of registered voters = 591,
APC polled 586 votes
PDP nine votes, indicating a total of four votes higher than the registered number of voters.

Figures from page 79 of the record of appeal show:
Registered voters = 526
APC got 526 votes, while PDP was credited with two votes, indicating two votes higher than the total number of registered voters in the area.”

The question concerning the geographical spread has already been dealt with by INEC.
In the face of the law, there (APC) move is tantamount to efforts in futility.

Good for you. I share your position but I will admit that in as much as I see PDP as a useless party that brought us to where we are today, APC is demonic.

PDP = very bad and wicked man.

APC = Devil grin

So when PDP people defect to APC, I remember the devil is the ruler of this world grin

But when APC people defect to PDP I remember Miracles grin

The SC Judges are even the ones causing this interpretation problem and its because some of their judgements in the past have been compromised that is why it is hard to maintain a truthful standard.

The judgement is the IMO case is really sad and will cause problems in the future because of "antecedence" in law.
