Good day guys. Please, I'll like to know if it's possible to get an Australian student visa if someone whom you are not related to is willing to cater your tuition and living expense, but not willing to transfer the funds to your parents' account. What are the chances?

We are still waiting for grant o. School has already resumed. I have requested for deferral.
Someone submitted documents on 2 Dec. And got visa response in 13 February. That's about 75 days.
I submitted 13 Dec and I am yet to receive from that calculation end of February is when I should expect response. Same should apply for the rest of us. Just carry 75 days for mind.

To those experience plz... My course is a one year program, hospitality. After which I intend to further to do a degree 2 years, would that be good to apply for PR. Alternatively if I do this one year program and do another related program for one year.... Would that be considered as 2 years when I apply for PR if both are only diplomas.

This is a little tricky.
They only people I know who are qualified for 2 year post study visa are those who did 2years course ,in your case u are going for 1 year meaning you don't qualify for it and as thus you will have to leave they country after your 1year course .
I don't know how possible it will be for u to secure admission into a 2year course over there.

Are you going for masters or Bsc?
Which school!

I am going for a Diploma. Tafe Queensland. I stated in my SOP to do this Diploma and then further to a degree because the school has option of such to partner universities like Bond etc. Before the one year finishes if I apply for continuation to a degree it cuts off the numbers of years to get a degree to just one year, that means in about over 2 and half years I can obtain a diploma and degree, these I also also stated in the SOP when answering what are my immediate future plans after completing.

Let me share my little experience in Tasmania. I came to this country last year November, Tasmania is a good place to live especially to grow up children. if you are the kind of person like me that hate traffic this might be the best place for you, low population and lovely people. No stress here like other part of the country because of the low population, the weather here is a bit cold and weather changes to different state nearly every hour that is, you cant predict the weather. Some people move to Tasmania mainly because of pr it is very easy here than most places in Australia. Once you work full time for a year, work six months in your field or study here for two years you can apply. One of the major problem most people face here is accommodation simply because movement of people from mainland to tasmania as trigger the price of accommodation and even scares. To get accommodation you will need to have rental history, payslips, water bills and so on which there is no way you can get this if you are new in the city to be honest is very very difficult expecially if you are with family. Job i can say job also is major issue here i worked for just two weeks since i landed last year "fruit picking" very hard job working in the sun for over 8hours. Even till now am still looking for job.

Most people do disability job but you need some license to work in that sector

You can't survive working here without having a car

Pay rate btw 25aud to 32aud some pay less

Rent for single room/ shared apartment from 180-250 per week
For family from 380-600 per week depending on the area Note: No one will give a family with kids a room apartment they give sign rent agreements based on the size of the family

Car from 1000 depending on your taste

Fuel 1.53 per liter depending on the type

We spend 80aud per week myself wife and kid for feeding

To family once you obtain your visa in my opinion let one person come to settle rent and job before the rest move in

To student get the half of the second semester fees job here will not pay second semester

@ ebere272, I saw your response on my comment.

please how much do you think will be the minimum required.

We are a family of 4.

Depends on the age of the kids..
Consider which state you are moving to...
If you staying in the city, you should have at least the 2nd semester fees of your wife..
Upkeep money for at least 3 months...
Money for rent and car too..

When you said car from 1000, is that in USD or AUD? That's too cheap in my opinion. In Nigeria here we buy 20004 Toyota corolla almost
4,500 USD.

Rough estimate:

2 semesters school fees is equal to #9,000,000.00
3 months upkeep @ 120 AUD/week @ 250 # 360,000.00
6 months rent @ 400 AUD/week @250 #2,400,000.00
2 Children school fees for 3 months @350 per child per week #2,100,000.00
A small car estimated at 2500AUD #625,000.00
Visa fee for all 4 family members estimated at #1,600,000.00
Air ticket for all 4 estimated at #2,000,000.00
Logistics #1,000,000.00
Total #19,085,000.00

God forbid, I can't kill myself. The best i can raise out of this amount is only #14,000,000.00

Why not let your wife go first and join her later.
You must not move at once.
It will be less cheap that way.

You can join her later on dependant visa

Bros if you remove custom duties, shipping fees and the middle man profit, the original cost of the car is like 1,500
