Many thanks for your response.

Yes, I realise I have to create a new profile. I am at it and I understand that our points will drop significantly for apparent reasons as well as for my age. We entered with 454 and got ITA at 452, the lowest since may 2019 - so I am not sure how possible it is to get an ITA anytime soon with something much lower. We have decided to enter the pool again with what we have in the meantime. Then we will go about getting my degrees reevaluated. We will also evaluate my spouse's degrees. He has almost completed his MBA (I am not sure he will get his certificate till almost year end though). We will most likely rewrite IELTS too (maybe this time I can get a 9 *amen*.) I also heard IQAS isn't receiving applications, but the person who told me said March - I will check. I could share the WES evaluation, but the important part is as quoted below:

"Canadian Equivalency Summary - Bachelor's degree (four years) and postgraduate diploma (one year)"

Looking back I think it was pretty silly of me to have ignored the diploma bit, thinking it won't matter because of the postgraduate bit and the fact that it is law after all.

I don't think you need to reevaluate your degree, what you have presently can be used for 2 or more certificates except you want to wait for iqas, which might not be complete before the year ends

You appeal for reconsideration by drafting an LOE and attaching it when you raise the CSE. I will also advice you send a direct email too.
Please take your time to draft the appeal letter and be careful about your choice of words and how you argue it and the proof your show. It will determine if they will even reopen the case. If you like, you can send it to me and I can help edit.

Requesting for reconsideration won’t affect you reentering the pool. You can do both simultaneously. You don’t need to state in your letter that you reentered the pool. If your request for reconsideration is granted, you simply delete your new profile in the pool, if not, no p.

Request for reconsideration is free. But take your time with the letter. It’s the only make or mar instrument you have.

BelovedQuerida:
I will do this. However, do you know if this will stall my re-entry into the pool? Also, will it be at a cost?

BelovedQuerida:
Just putting all the options on the table really. We will definitely be appealing, just wanted to go into it fully informed. I have tried to raise CSE, but there is no option for appealing a rejection. Can you please assist (if you know how) on the exact process. Thank you.

Hello, you should be worried. Please don’t claim points for professional degree if WES evaluates it as Bachelors (if you know you won’t do IQAS later before your application decision is over). There is a reason why WES and other evaluating bodies are required by CIC. It’s to help the VO’s decision. VO would rather follow the evaluation of these bodies than your explanation in LOE for the purpose of objectivity. If you evaluated your law degree with WES, claim the points equivalent to your evaluation to avoid issues. I personally have not seen anyone who used WES for evaluation and claimed professional degree for crs points yet got PPR without updating the application with IQAS afterwards.

My advice would be if you know you would submit your application after the end of May, claim points for professional degree, send your degree to IQAS for evaluation by May. Post-AOR after your IQAS evaluation is out, raise CSE and update your application with it. That was what @Romstar1 did and got PPR. Gaming maybe, but it worked. https://www.nairaland.com/5471101/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/194#84789156

NOC and degree evaluation are not related.

chubby89:

Oh dear, I'm a law graduate as well but my NOC is "HR and recruitment officers" I'm hoping to claim points for professional degree though my wes report states its a bachelors degree. Now I'm worried.

Good morning to everyone,

A quick question please. After submitting the EE profile, I realised that CIC did not give me any score for Foreign work experience (I included just 4 years though) as an accompanying spouse though we still had 476.

My questions:

1. Can I remove all my work experience pre -ITA (since there is no score for it anyways) and add them post - ITA?

2. If 1 above is yes, can I decide not to add any employment reference letters post - ITA during submission since it was not considered during CRS score considerations?

3. Any negative implications for the above. For example, will it mean that I am concealing a vital information or misrepresenting myself though am not the PA? Or would one be deemed to have zero - experience after landing in Canada during job search?

Thank you all for your urgent responses as always.

no. Only those experiences giving you points need a reference letter . Like in my case my current job already gave 3 years experience. So reference letter from the other 2 was not needed

Hello, if I'm not using my present job of 5 months to claim points, is it okay to include it under personal history?

The number of Nigerian immigrants to Canada has tripled in the last five years
February 12, 2020
Yomi Kazeem
By Yomi Kazeem
Africa reporter
https://qz.com/africa/1801529/over-12000-nigerians-moved-to-canada-in-2019/

The exodus of Nigerian immigrants to Canada is showing no signs of slowing down.

For the fifth year in a row, more Nigerians emigrated to Canada than the year before as data published by the Canadian government shows the number of Nigerians issued permanent resident permits has tripled since 2015. It’s a growth rate that outstrips some of Canada’s biggest sources of immigrants over the last five years, including India, China and Philippines.

The rise in Nigerian immigrants heading to Canada reflects the North American country’s push to expand its labor force and lower the average age of its workers as its population advances in years. In 2019, Canada welcomed 341,000 immigrants in total (about 10,000 more it targeted) as part of its immigration policy to attract skilled workers.

For middle-class Nigerians increasingly looking to emigrate, Canada holds appeal for several reasons. Its ongoing drive to increase skill-based immigration offers a legal and long-term path not just to residency permits but also citizenship. It’s a prospect that’s alluring given Nigeria’s ongoing economic and insecurity travails, with the political class not appearing any closer to providing the kind of leadership required to turn around the country’s fortunes. In 2018, Nigeria overtook India as the country with the highest number of people living in extreme poverty. And, given precariously low human capital spending on education and healthcare, it’s a reality that will endure for, at least, a generation.

For Nigerians who can afford to relocate, the chance for their children to access better education standards —and the future opportunities that come with it—has also proven to be a major factor. Like most other immigrant groups, Nigerians moving to Canada mostly settle in Ontario.

The high interest in moving to Canada also means not everyone takes the legal route, with illegal border crossings via upstate New York an increasingly popular path. As of September 2019, Nigeria had, by far, the highest number of pending refugee protection claims in Canada.

It’s unlikely that immigration levels from Nigeria to Canada will drop anytime soon. With the appetite for emigration not dampening, Canada’s liberal and welcoming immigration policy is not only attractive but also at odds with other major Western countries. In the wake of Brexit, the United Kingdom has tightened immigration policies. For its part, the United States has recently banned Nigerians from receiving immigration visas as part of a new wave of restrictions from the Trump administration’s already long history of tough immigration clampdowns on Nigeria.

In contrast, Canada is projected to welcome nearly 700,000 immigrants over the next two years.

Hello everyone. Please a quick question to the gurus. Can I use investment in cowrywise as proof of funds, given the crash in treasury bills rates.
Many thanks.

Good day All,

I feel really really ashamed to type this because I tried to be very careful when I was applying and attaching documents.

Since AOR, I log in at least once a week to check and to also compare documents I submitted.

Just in Friday, during my routine check, I realised erroneously attached only the letter of consent to use my hubby's funds for POF. The document was actually saved as "POF and letter of consent" but when unchecked, i realised it was only letter and not the Tbills certificate. I felt cold immediately as i did biometrics since November.

Immediately, i raised a CSE and attached the right document which has the POF. Is there any other thing I can do? Should I call or any thing or is the CSE sufficient?

I'm really taken aback and grateful I didnt get a rejection mail as I know POf is such a big deal.

Last cse on status showed VO is Ottawa and eligibility is still on going.

Also, part of the funds in the Tbill matured this month. Due to the present Tbills rate, we invested it in ARM .

Is this ok?

I'll appreciate responses. Thank you.

N/B, please how can I be added to October 2019 AOR group?

.

I don't think the pay slips are necessary. For my application, i only uploaded Letter of Employment, Last Promotion letter, Last pay review letter and Recommendation letter.

If you can lay your hands on any of the first three documents alongside the recommendation letter, you should be fine .

OINP is particular about POF that can be liquidated immediately. Pension letter will not state that and you may very well get an ADR for that

AyabaS:
Hello house,

Been waiting for ITA since October when scores went crazy. OINP came through yesterday and I'm going for it . The thing is my documents have been ready since last year and are addressed to CIC. Will these suffice or do I have to get the documents again addressed to Ontario specifically?

Also, the plan is to augment POF with 25% of my pension which I believe is acceptable for EE, PNP i'm not so sure. Anyone knows if OINP accepts pension as POF?

Good evening house. I have a question. After submitting my profile for express entry I was found ineligible because my band score is 6.5. I entered the pool because of hope for Alberta pnp my noc is in demand. Assuming luck shines on me and I get a pnp from Alberta is it this same express entry profile I will use to apply for PR because there I can’t see any section that allows me to modify my information. Also when I checked google it said that a profile that is found ineligible for express entry information cannot be modified. I quite confused I just need clarification. Meanwhile I also plan on taking the ielts exam again

Good evening everyone, I'm new here and I'm sure I'm in the right place.

I'm planning on my Canadian PR and I'm checking my eligibility. I am a walk-in telecommunication customer service and part of my job descriptions are handling complaints, promoting products and services, making bill payments, troubleshooting technical difficulties, making sales (I have targets to be met at the end of the month too).

I want to ask if NOC 6221 will be perfect for my job description? I've gotten four years work experience already.

6221 would suit a sales representative more, I think. If you look at the duties carefully, you'd figure that it involves sales and promotion of goods and services.

In your case, I think 6551 would suit you more - based on the duties you listed above. Check it out.
