Sounds like the Caller had put the woman under some kind of spell

Even though the driver demonstrated to by her calling the thing was a scam, she was still determined to pay the guy 25k dollars. Why would someone be so determined to pay out 25k dollars? What's the emergency

Actually, he's correct. Most of the calls are from call centers in India and Jamaica as well. The way you know is their very distinct Indian accent. So many seniors and others have been victims of such scams in the US, especially around tax time. I have received so many of such calls even as an officer of the court.

Indians are majorly the ones responsible for IRS scams in USA. Plot twist: an Indian man saved the poor woman... God is truly great. cheesy

They typically operate call centers in India and use international phone numbers to call unsuspecting victims. So many videos on YouTube about this.
Exactly the same thing I want to say. Coincidentally the can driver is named Singh, likely of Indian descent. A lot of US residents have been victims to the IRS scam because most people dread the IRS. You don't want to have issue with them. They can seize your property, contact your employer in order to garnish your monthly salary or even seize funds in your bank account.

You still don't understand. No one is saying only Indians scam, what I mean specifically is IRS scams. Dating scam, advance fee fraud etc are not usually associated with India... That's all.

They operate call centers and disguise it as legal business corporations while all they do is place scam calls and defraud foreigners.
I understand your message... Nigerians that doing the IRS scam are on high side too. A group of Nigerians was caught in state of Connecticut in 2017. The leader's name is Daniel Adekunle OJo. This group stole state school workers’ W-2s in IRS scheme. Nigerians that involve in this dirty business are high too.

Well I feel like you googled Nigerians caught for IRS scam, just to prove your point. But the truth is that Indians are majorly the ones doing it. It is widely known to the Americans themselves... Contextual understanding should also make you understand that there's always an exception to every rule so no big deal if there are a few Nigerians doing that as well.

If Indians can go as far as owning call centers in India just for IRS tax scam, you'd know that Nigerians doing it are learners and not as sophisticated as their Indian counterparts.

Either ways we don't need to keep arguing. wink

such acts are rare. This guy is a great fellow that did not leave this business just like that, and helped an elderly woman save her money.
Someone about to scam a 92 year old woman?
Probably the 25K is all her life savings.
They wanna reap where they did not sow.
May all fraudsters keep meeting disappointment in life.

Thumbs up to the good driver.
The news since years ago proves that most scammers are targeting elderly people. Even until now, they are still doing this. They have been around trying to steal people's money for years. I have just Googled up about these IRS scams and easily find some reports filed at https://www.whycall.me/301-830-6828.html since 2018! It's good to know that there are still some good people out there. God bless him.
