Meet a brother yesterday, he have been offline for the month, so I ask him way? He said VIO apprehend him early this month cos of those 3 permits, took em a week to get his car after spending 45k including demurrage. Though he admit being uber driver when the question was thrown to him.

Thank you for having a view different from mine, which you expressed.

All I've just be saying is e-hailing drivers cannot afford to pretend like the Lagos State Government factor is not there. It is there, it stares us in the face. For instance, the latest VIO is saying is that e-hailing vehicles drivers should have Hackney permit and LASDRI. No driver can afford to ignore these directives.

For instance, if VIO should stop me and is able to identify me as an e-hailing driver; then ask me for my Hackney permit and LASDRI, will I tell them Uber or Bolt have not notified me, so I don't have? Won't my vehicle be impounded?

One of our responsibilities on this thread is to guide people right so their investments in e-hailing can be protected. Anybody can come on this forum and say I'm not getting this and I'm not getting that; which will end up misleading so many people such that when it comes to time to face these officials on the road, they will be on there own and at the mercies of the officials.
i get you bro. Nobody is denying the government factor. In fact as someone rightly pointed out the government would always win

But what I’m saying is that there’s no way the government would implement an order without informing Uber. No official statements from government yet and we just carry am for head

Just like the case of gokada ban, there was official statement from the government and the firm was also informed

We are less than 2% of the entire Uber drivers in Lagos on this platform so tell me how drivers not on this thread will be aware if not from Uber coz apart from this thread I’ve not heard, seen or read about these permits(radio, tv, internet)

Again I’m yet to see anybody whose car was impounded coz of those permits. It’s just hearsay and nothing more

Next time, quote and mention me directly.
That is if you have any balls in between your legs.

Idiot.

Bruv, I will quote you and quote you over and over again. I dare people a lot.
I respect the fact that you're one of the early mentors around here but i don't like the way you shove your opinion on people. It is condescending!
You tend to snowball people a lot especially those who were not around when you drove on the platform.
All these talks of shading your fellow men if he's a graduate or not doesn't sit too well with me, that's why i am calling you out. Intelligence and exposure are not even, so please when people don't agree with you, don't be too emotional about it.
You said you're the COO of an engineering company, by the grace of God, i am the Head of operations at Fenix international, a multinationals company in Victoria island.
Not only have i been to 4 different countries (England, Kenya ,Morocco and Uganda), i have also been sent on a training to Germany when i was the Chief of Staff at AIG Express.
But before this happened, i lost my job at my dream company at a point and that is where my e hailing venture started. I have never rub it off anybody here.

I can see you have no sense.

Let me tell you the kind of work I do. I am the Chief Operating Officer of an Engineering company. I am a Strategy person. I'm on call 24-7. For example, my boss and myself hold regular strategy meets at Silver Cafe, Ozone Center during working hours. And we do alcohol while we meet. I am free to resume and close when I want. I am even free to work from my house. I coordinate my team remotely regardless of where I am.

I just have KPIs I deliver against, every month. And I am paid well for the job. Plus I have an official vehicle and a driver. Official vehicle, not pool car.

Stop writing about things you know nothing about.

WOW! Your CV is loaded. Clearly is not pinching you the way is pinching us, at all.

Please o, many of us here are looking for a Way out via paid employment. That is if you really want to help, as a COO of an Engineering firm.

Instead of pushing guys into ehailing suicidal mission to pay N110k operating licence fee etc.
Outright wickedness!

Abeg! Wetin be KPI.

Pele! Mr Nice guy.
You're even pleading on Jaydee's behalf. That's bleeped up.
She cheated him and i am quite sure it was when Jaydee got tired of reminding her to pay was when he brought the issue here or do you think drivers here don't give benefits of the doubt up to 24hrs before narrating their ordeals here ?
I called her and she hurled insults at me for telling her to pay up. I let her finish and told her if she doesn't quit whoring herself to men, she will meet her Waterloo one day. She hanged up on me, no be only her sabi talk.
Its the same thing i will tell a female friend /sister if I found out she's an escort , who go about cheating people.
Stop calling for people's head here. There are folks (myself inclusive) who have had to let go even after dropping contacts here. Have we not move on with our lives?
And for her to say she doesn't know there was surge made it clear she lied. If you requested for a ride and there's a surge, you'll be notified that prices are higher, so which stupid she yarn be that.
Even if what she had on her that day was that 4k, she could have resorted to plead with Jaydee who may be kind enough to let it go.
You did you part, good! But don't question people's way of trying to get the money from her. She might have said some unspeakable things for the said person to say such to her.

Bro you solid! If she had acted maturely I would have let it slide. She read my chats, blocked me and still I'm the bad guy.

Pope thanks for the advise. This people always want to see the other side of you. I'm glad guys here called and she got shamed! If she no pay the money atleast she felt the heat.

One love keep us together.

You read my story that I picked up riders the fare was due to surge, I lent her 1k to buy things on the way and at the end she paid 4000naira and told me she will pay the balance on monday.

What other info did i left out? What will i gain by putting up someone's number for us to call? Is it not so the person wont do this shit to another driver?

"Those whose palm-kernels were cracked for them by a benevolent spirit should not forget to be humble" (Achebe 9).

This proverb means that a man who has found success and overcome obstacles with the help of divine intervention should display humility.

We are taking this issue of operators licence, LASDRI AND and Hackney permits too personal.

At a point like this, I expect everyone to be calm and pray that the best becomes the outcomes of this issue.

My opinion though.

Lol bro no be so. We are all human, cos some riders are bad doesn't mean all the riders are bad. Ever wonder why things like this rarely happens on uber? I gave her that chance cos it's just 1600. I'm trying to save the next driver she might use and try this stunt. This will make her think again and also I'm sure she would tell her friends about this issue.

It's a Win situation here bro.

This is not an issue of pity for anyone. The reason why I said I won't believe a side of a story is I don't know the real story of this matter. send her your account number through SMS and lets see if she's really scam or not. Me am just not in support of posting riders number anyhow, there are better ways to go about it. I don call some riders here based on numbers drivers put here where riders will tell me that he/she will substitute the money to the insult other callers gave them. No be all of us wey dey here Sabi address issue maturely, some are ready to escalate things while some are just to achieve the riders pay their money.
baba I commend you for the way you spoke to her but most of those girls are plainly rude, arrogant and lie a lot

She must have lied to you to save face. She should post the message of the guy that asked for a fvck. Besides respect is earned. If she had wanted one she would have paid her debts

No need supporting her but if you still believe what she told you then you can as well believe my grandma of 85yrs is still a virgin

*sigh

It’s either you’re extremely dumb or you’re extremely dumb. So after acknowledging the lagos govt, I should go and pay 110k for permit and also do the hackney and lasdri when the ehailing companies have mandated it as a pre-requisite for on-boarding.

If an investor wants to come in, will you tell him/her to get those permit or anticipate them?

What we are doing is simply observing and when it becomes mandatory, you either get it or get out.

Have some sense please.

Now I see how stuuuuuuppppiiiiiiiiiiiiddddddddd you really are.

Kodred had the temerity to write here that I was cheating my employer by being on social media. That was why I had to explain what I do and how flexible my work is.

I care less if people agree or disagree with anything I post on this forum. I've just been saying no one should shade me or insult me because of any opinion I express here. You can disagree with me, yes.

If I sound condescending when I shade or insult, it's deliberately so. I'm sorry I have to go down that path, but I was minding my business reading and responding to posts before someone shaded or insulted me.

By the way, once our partners communicate with us to get the permits, then we have no choice, even though we need to be proactive. while I was eating somewhere around the shrine area (Hakeem Dickson) , someone got a call from his friend that VIO have arrested him and he's been taking to the taskforce office at Oshodi, the guy beg with 10k them no gree but insisted on 20k, I gave them the numbers to call, ate and left.
