“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread” Psalm 37:25

An old man who had walked with God wrote the verse above. You could tell he had seen a lot in his lifetime. However, he had never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging for bread. This is good news – there are immense benefits in our sacrifice of righteousness.

You must know that righteousness benefits you and not God. Likewise, if you want to live a life of sin, it is you who will pay for it, not Him. Staying away from sin is for your own good. What are some of the rewards of righteousness?

1. No matter the kind of trouble a righteous person faces, it will never overcome him/her. The righteous will never be moved. No matter how great the storm, when it is over, he/she will still be standing (Psalm 55:22).

2. The righteous is always ahead of everyone else because he/she knows God's secrets (Proverbs 3:32). James 5:16 says it is the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous that avails much. Thus, it is the prayers of the upright that are answered.

3. Blessings are also transferred to the seed of the righteous. Psalm 112:2 says that the seed of the upright will be mighty. I have always said that my children - biological and spiritual will be greater than I. This is because I know that if I live righteously and convince my children to do so too, the matter is settled. If God makes your children great, you will reap the benefits while you are alive, and when you are gone, your name will remain relevant. At least for the sake of your children, live holy.

Isaiah 3:10 says it will be well with the righteous and they shall reap the fruit of their doings. It pays to be upright; I am determined that as long as I live, holiness will be my lifestyle. Have you made that decision also?

Does the oath on Islamic threads actually mean anything
Does it prevent Islam from being a shitty religion?.

And does that prevent Christianity from being a super shitty non-religion where their God can be killed by death?

I AM HAPPY TO BE A HEAD SLAMMER LIKE JESUS AND THE GREAT PEOPLE OF THE BIBLE

"And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship..." (Joshua 5:14)

And Abraham fell on his face..." (Genesis 17:3)

…and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God." (Revelation 7:11)

"And he (Jesus) went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed..." (Matthew 26:39)

Say, "Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it - when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration(Quran 17 vs 107)

ACCORDING TO THIS PSALM,
ALL THOSE GOING THROUGH HARDSHIP AND STRIFE IN THIS NAIJA ARE UNRIGHTEOUS... UPON ALL OUR CHURCH AND SPIRITUALITY.

EITHER NAIJA IS LOADED WITH HYPOCRITES OR THIS PSALM OF GOD IS A LIE.

ULTIMATELY, BOTH STATEMENTS ARE CORRECT.

I wonder why some people, pulpit speakers don't teach the beatitudes when teaching blessing

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:3

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Matthew 5:6

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Matthew 5:7

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Matthew 5:8

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Matthew 5:9

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:10

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Matthew 5:11

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Matthew 5:12

I hope the OP is not trying to paint self-righteousness of dead works.
If you believe in Christ, just know you have been made righteous freely and for ever. Therefore all rewards mentioned above are freely yours.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin destroy a nation, proverbs 14:34
The word of God cannot change and God cannot lie.
In Nigeria there are more church goers (unrighteous) than true Christians(righteous),

We are partakers of all those blessing through our righteousness not by confession
Shall we continue in sin that grace may abide?

What is your definition of "a righteous man"?

Even the Bible says the righteousness of man is like filthy rags before the holiness of God.

Strictly speaking no one can claim righteousness in the presence of the all-holy God.

Besides, it is quite silly to think that God bribes people to be good and punishes people for their faults, weaknesses and failures.

So, you are kinda wrong...in my opinion.

A righteous man like Cornelius

God is not against a righteous man, in fact he wanted them to com to his full knowledge

a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always" (Acts 10:2).

Read that Rom 6 further, and you will see it's not the grace that will be taken if we "continue in sin",rather it is the ability to continue in sin that is no more there.. For he saith
"How shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein"

It is "how shall we", not "how shall grace"
It's sin that's snuffed out by continual grace, not the other way around.
BTW God's blessings are unmerited. They are gifts, not rewards. For by strength shall no man prevail
