FIRST;
I FOUND NAIL and was removed endoscopically.

SECOND was a TOY BEAD impacted at the Tracheoesophageal junction of a CHILD, which led to respiratory embarrassment.

THIRD, was a macerated Gauze Bandage left inadvertently in the peritoneal cavity of a patient who later came down with a high output enterocutaneous (faecal) fistula.
Which kind of language is this na? Pls communicate.

This is so terrible and appears to be negligence. How is it that they have a place to keep all the tools they use, yet they drop things inside people? When they are stitching, don't they see the things? It seems deliberate because they've trained and yet make such mistakes. If engineers made such mistakes, everyone would be dead.
Hope you're not referring to Nigerian engineers because those people are not doing anything not to talk of making mistakes.

While closing up a woman following a caesarean delivery, a particular suture needle broke, everyone in the theatre thought that the other part of the needle fell on the floor not knowing it was left inside the woman. While checking the stuff that was used for the surgery, we couldn't find the other part of the needle, we had to wheel the woman back to the theatre and she was cut open again, luckily the needle was found.. She didn't feel any pain because she was still under the effect of anaesthesia

Dear, I'm a true child of the land.
Not bashing Nigeria in anyway and my post is not intended to. Just stating the obvious since I'm not aware of how it's done by our hospitals here.
I'm a doctor and I'm telling you it's not routine anywhere in the world to do imaging studies post op except for specific reasons in specific surgeries. It's not as if we're doing the wrong thing in Nigeria.

How do they "forget" these things inside a person? It seems it's deliberate so that they will have a repeat patient to take it out. Perhaps money is the motivation.
operate and forget something inside me, am gonna sue you not only for all the money you've got, but also for attempted murder and your practice license. Any I don't think money is the motive.

that you use the Nigerian facilities and haven't died as a result is enough testament to their ability not to make such costly mistakes. I'm referring to engineers and not your idea of graduates. It takes more than 7 years of University to be one.

Human beings are different from materials...
Don't bring up any childish argument..
People respond to drugs and other treatments regimen distinctively, that's why the practice of medicine is delicate..

Everywhere, errors are bound to occur but when it's as a result of negligence, it's unacceptable..

Pls don't bring up "Engineers mistakes cost thousand lives" brouhaha because we've heard several cases like that.
And don't relate that to Nigerian Engineers bcuz they are practically not doing anything.

If you hate engineers, that's your cup of tea. Don't bring up your infantile argument based on your personal sentiment.

Leaving items in people is different from your so called "drug regimens". Where are you coming from? What are you saying? From that I can see you are out for a fight and nothing sensible. Remind yourself of the topic and not whatever it is you're talking about.

If your Nigerian engineers are doing nothing, why is your society not crumbling and exploding at every turn? Get real. You mistake artisans and graduates with engineers.
