Apparently they start refusing from Monday 24th. They can still honor up to end of Friday 21st

How can they even think of refusing those already awaiting interview? I think it should be from those yet to petition.

Thanks for sharing this. I had earlier on advised those who wish to proceed with their appointment to go with all the documents they believe will gain them a waiver. This document shows that the US embassy in Nigeria is approaching the matter same way as in the other countries that have been on the ban. What we are not sure yet is if the approval rate and processing time for the waiver will be the same. If it is, then it doesn't make sense (6% approval rate and over 1year processing time).
The ban looks like it would be resolved before that processing time elapses.

Pls can you be more specific about the kind of documents that may gain you the exception? However, I think they should suspend the interview session until the ban is lifted.

I would say the most plausible documents are Medical records of the applicant or minor child/children justifying the need to seek further medical attention in the USA. Situations arising from political instability in your country of birth has been declared as not meeting the requirements for extreme/undue hardship, however immigration lawyers have ways of creating something out of it. I would advise anyone that wants to go the way of waiver to seek the services of an immigration attorney.

Guys I had my interview on Thursday the 20th and my visa was approved. I asked the VO after the interview if I won't get affected by the ban and he said no, he added that the visa would be issued the same day as he has everything he needs. I checked my case status yesterday and it was already issued and to be picked up hopefully this week. I can't say the same for those who were told to bring additional document as approvals can't be made until the submitted documents are confirmed which won't fly through as visa issuance is now on merit basis.

Goodluck to everyone who is in line and I hope this ban gets lifted ASAP.

P. S. LEXUS ES330 for sale at giveaway price cheesy

How much and how long have you being using it for?

Planning on getting one this week.

Don't stress yourself . Nothing that is under your control is likely to happen. Just pray and hope for the best.

This is just injustice.
Why are they still scheduling interviews
Punishing the citizens because of government officials shortcomings. To me this makes no sense.
But as it is we have no power over this ban.

I attended this morning. The best anyone can get is promise to have a waiver considered. You don't need to apply for a waiver, it is automatically given to you if you passed the interview and they decide to keep your passport and police reports.

What we can do is just pray they are generous with the waivers. Even old men and women nearly 80 years old or even more only got promise of waiver and same white note.

but they have imposed strong conditions on non immigrant visa at point of entry they will issue the duration of stay if someone exceed the duration the person will face deportation. It’s like they want to start deporting Nigeria’s for visa overstays

Mine is a three year work visa, i am actually relocating.

Why should anyone overstay the given duration of stay in the first place?

Did they bring up your F4 application during the interview at all?

In light of this work visa - this would probably be in your favour since the ban would affect your F4 progressing

Surprisingly no, it wasn’t brought up.

We have case complete and were just waiting for interview before the ban.

Although I addressed it in the form& explained how I won’t be in any country illegally for any reason.

It’s been a roller coaster of emotions, this February. we went from not caring about the work permit cuz green card was in the horizon, to caring, to worrying about the trump ban affecting it, to worrying about the F4 affecting our chances

Roller coaster it is, ban threw a lot of people off course. May it all end in praise.
Glad you can at least go ahead with work. All the best and more

Why is your case at USCIS still? You've mentioned this about a dozen times and more.
Aren't you supposedly under 21? Why would it take this long?

I'm not sure you know enough about this process or if your Dad is being economical about the truth or if you're even the same person who posts under this Moniker

Sorry I only narrated my experience . I don't work for American or Nigerian government . I must however say they only hold on to your passport if they think you qualify for a waiver. If you don't they immediately give it back to you.

I have already shared my experience . The best you can get is to be considered for a waiver because even old mothers as old as 80 years are not given their visa. I suspect most people less than 40 will get a worse result and no consideration for a waiver.
