Wow! Guys I like how you guys team up to shame and recover money from fraudsters. Keep it up. I hope you can help me recover mine too.

I was actually defrauded by a fellow man around August 2018. I had bought a few months naija used honda EOD earlier that year and the seller was magnanimous enough to leave the plate number to me till the cars registration expires at August 2018. When the car registration was getting to expire around August then, I needed to do change of ownership. I was also planning for my wedding that held in November 2018 so I needed to make trips from Lagos to the east in preparation for the wedding. I was to travel at the end of August then so needed to change the car's documents to my name.
The cars initial registration was done at Sogunle registration office. I was told that's where the change of ownership can only be done. So, one day I went to Sogunle registration office. I met a lot of jobbers at the gate that were calling and trying to enquire why I came visiting. Due to fear of being scammed(though I was later scammed too) I walked straight into the registration office and enquired from a lady who directed me to their then boss. I met the boss( a middle aged man) and told him that I came to do change of ownership on my car. He called one guy( the scammer), they call him "Chicago"(I later got his real name as Seyi Popoola) and directed me to him that he will help me and do it. Since I was introduced to him by the boss in the office, I thought he was one of the staff there. I later got to know he was one of the jobbers. I also thought that since I had come to the office directly, it was difficult to get scammed. I was so wrong. So I negotiated with "Chicago" to do the job for 48k. He requested for some documents which I provided and transferred 35k as advance payment with the agreement to pay the remaining balance of 13k when he completes the job by handing me the documents at the end of August 2018. That was when my problem started.
I gave him the two weeks he said he requested to complete the job. After the two weeks I called him for the papers and his stories started till it got to a point of him blocking me from calling him. His initial story was scarcity of plate number for re-registeration. He said that a different plate numer is used for re-registration from the ones used for new registration. I later go to know that was partially true. There is a re-registration plate number but a new plate number can also be used for re-registration. When I furnished him with that information and even promised to add 7k to the initially agreed 48k just to make him do the job, he started promising to deliver today, tomorrow and next till I got tired. I was planning for my wedding then and was very busy coupled with my job. I explained everything to this guy over the phone. He sounds so genuine and trusting over the phone that after speaking with him, I will let all my guards down till he failed again and again. I was calling him alongside my then fiancee, now my wife, and he was promising both of us which he never fulfiled and I never got back my money. One time he told me he travelled to see his very sick mum and was with her at the hospital for over two weeks and I actually believed and pitied him. When it was obvious he wasn't going to do the job or refund my money, I visited the Sogunle office trying the meet the boss that directed me to him and was shocked to learn that he was transferred to another location. Attempts to get his phone number was futile as the staff their refused to release it instead they all promised to talk to Chicago which didn't yield any positive result till today. That was when I learnt that Chicago was a jobber and not a staff. I had to renew the old documents that made it possible for me to travel with the car then. The highway policemen always asked to speak with the man whose name appears on the car documents. I later did the change of ownership with another agent in August 2019 when the renewal expired.
So this is February 2020, 18 months after, Chicago(Seyi Popoola, his Facebook name) is still with my 35k. His phone number is 08028482705. I actually have his picture and wouldn't hesitate to post it anywhere. He deserves no mercy. He is a fraudster. I was thinking he is a fellow man that understands after I explained to him of my wedding plans then with the financial obligations that comes with it. He sounds so trusting and convincing when you speak to him but never follows through with his words.
I have actually made arrangements with a distant police relative to lure him to a place and arrest him since I don't know his address but that hasn't happened due to time factor.
It's still that same car that I started using earlier this year for part time ehailing.
Guys if by our collective effort, we can make this guy to refund this 35k, I will use at least 10k from it to distribute airtime to members of this platform.
Thanks in advance.
Guys
Job don land ooo

Hi guys, i have a corolla that i bought around June last yr. E never reach September naso i start to dey hear one sound like say metal dey vibrate under the car.

I carry am go give on yeye panel, he said na the resonator damage and na him dey make that sound. He got another resonator pipe and weld it in. Unfortunately the sound no stop. So I took the car to ladipo and they detected the sound was coming from the first port that house the catalytic converter. I'll attach pics!

The ladipo welder say he can replace the converter with tokunbo and that will cost 35k. As money no too dey i opted for a cheaper alternative, he sha manage put something like white block and net inside the port and covered it back. Ever since then the corolla dey chop fuel die.

Now i wan make una advise me, what to do? I'm ready to replace the exhuast completely if possible and not too expensive. Cos if corolla don dey chop fuel na gbese.

I did scan last week and the scan result was saying something about the catalytic converter.

2007 corolla.

Good evening all, I don't mean to be rude, but I have been asking lots of questions about e-hailing, but no one seems interested in helping out. None the less I believe you guys could still be of help. I wanted to ask if it's advisable to take a loan to purchase a vehicle for e-hailing in Lagos

Bolt/Taxify are mad!!!
Took this lady from vi to freedom way.
We went to eko hotel first and I waited for more than one hour. She begged me to wait cos her stuffs were inside my car. When she came I checked the price was N1,300. Got to her destination Price was N1,700 from eko hotel with toll gate fee to freedom way. Bolt wrote price was recalculated cos of poor route. She gave me 2k and ask me to keep the change. I do not expect the fare to be less than 2k. I think I will stop waiting for Bolt rider. Some will tell u wait for me after-all my money is reading.
It's up to you bro. This job demands firmness and all, know when to apply. Picked up a very rude lady with a very thick Igbotic accent this morning from Lekki gardens, Hi-tech Road. She talks with this massive aggression. I decided to remain calm and not disturb the mad man that lives inside of me. This idiot was going to Abraham Adesanya, about 2km away from pickup. Getting to Petrocam, she said she will use the ATM, a crowded ATM. Said it in her usual authoritative manner with that thick accent. So I will have to wait for you to go through this cue? That was when the mad man that liveth in me woke up. I exploded immediately in anger. Told her I wasn't going to wait and besides she doesn't know how to talk. Seeing how my eyes have changed, she behaved immediately and stepped back into the car. Trip ended minutes later, gave her one star and moved. If someone is asking you to wait for an hour. Tell her to pay you 5k or move. She will get another ride. Drop her stuffs on the floor and move. I have dropped a man and his luggage (toilet seat) in front of a bank before for time wasting. No crime.

For all reason i just love UBER and if not for uber I seriously have doubt if I would be able to be meeting up with rental kpelu family, dependants kpelu personal needs. Uber makes work easy, stressness with your self esteem high on your shoulders.

But just this morning I woke up to read how my account has been placed on a temporary hold. See pictures within.
I immediately mailed them back telling them how unprofessional they must have acted without any form of notice prio to the clamp down on my account. Including how I have planned my day and week to work.

Guess what, about about an hour after mailing them I got a reply that my account has been reactivated with apology.

3% after 20 trips is like another thing I can't stop loving UBER. #uber4life. grin

On which platform did you message them.. I've been messaging them concerning the deactivation of my account but they never reply me. I was at Uber office yesterday, the lady told there's nothing she can do n she gave me a directive note to message Uber. I just weak comot there yesterday

MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!!

I have received my money. No the fraudster didn't pay. Our own Radautoworks paid the debt for the scammer. I didn't get it the first time she requested for my banking details because I wasn't expecting that till she asked for it the second time. Even while sending it, I was wondering why she was requesting for it. To cut the long story short. She wired 35k into my account paying for the fraudsters debt. I was wowed by her action. I haven't experienced such magnanimity in my life before and it's such a big lesson. Thank you very much Aunty Radu.

The fraudster actually called me this evening after over a year of blocking me and not answering my calls. I don't if it's because of a stern SMS I sent him earlier or the calls you guys have made to him.
Thank you guys for the good work.

Like I initially promised, I will distribute N500 airtime to at least 20 people active on this thread. I know most people wouldn't want to post their phone numbers here so it will go like this:
1. Send me a PM
2. I will get your moniker from the PM and use it to ascertain if you are active on the thread. Being active simply means that first you must be an Uber/bolt driver and must have made at least one post on the ehailing thread.
3. If I ascertain that you are active, I will request from you via email the phone number you want the airtime on and the mobile carrier.
4. I will then send the airtime to the phone number you will provide.
5. You will have to come back to the thread to say that you received the airtime.

So it's that simple. Let's get it started.

First off, You need to realize Catalytic converter don't just die out like that.

Cat hates it when your engine runs poorly (Excessive oil consuption or car running too rich or lean) Those can damage your catalytic converter quickly.

You shouldn't have allowed that welder tampered with your cat since you weren't having money for replacement, The construction he made is actually blocking/clogging your exhaust from breathing effectively hence the reason for your bad gas mileage.

Go scan your car and see if you would get codes relating to defective Oxygen sensors for either or both bank 1 and 2, if you don't, then replace catalytic converter or the complete exhaust system.

All you have to do is catalyst delete, remove the catalyst converter or that wire from the exhaust and weld it back, then install a fouler or spacer in the down 02 sensor.

One person that have two monikers here just played a "smart" one and used the two to collect N500 each on two different phone numbers. It was intended for the airtime to be N500 per person no matter how many monikers you have. I will shame the next person that tries that again here.

Not withstanding the magnanimity guyz, let's bombard the alleged scammer non stop until he succumbs. I have called him severally on my MTN and Glo, he's not picking up.

This should serve as deterrent...

He just gave me a call back that he will refund his money next month. Reminded him next month is just few days from now. I also informed him that we were legions, that we won't let him rest until he refunds the money. Everyone is struggling to survive and that we shouldn't be a stumbling block to one another.

He doesn't sound lettered though, a mature man acting irresponsibly.
