Yes, internship is a year long but can be extended for an additional 6 months but no longer than 2 years at the moment.

Pay is 100k (BSc) or 150k (MSc)

Yes there is possibility of being retained as a 'contract staff' but opportunity depends on department/time and chance hence, probability is quite slim.

What I did was that, I went to a company that I knew the people there and told my school the company is requesting for my transcript...my school sent it there and I printed it out and took my soft copy

It is good experience but it is in no way a method to get into the company fully - at best is contract staff
