Advice On A Nigerian Used 08 Honda Civic by Selfkontrol(op): 9:30pm On Feb 29, 2020
Good evening all, pls I need advice on this Nigerian used car I want to buy since it’s budget friendly. Owner said it was bought brand new with about 70,000+ mileage and it’s going for 1.350m
Been used for 4 years plus and the owner is a manager like I heard.
I’m yet to go with a mechanic and a car scanner though.
I’m just here to seek advice if it’s advisable to go check out the car because I want to use it for bolt business sometimes thank you

I think it is rather expensive for a used one.

Its a nice car. Good engine. Good gearbox, nice fuel consumption.
Only issue is that it is a low ride.
Pls it does not tolerate abuse

That car is clean. It is not expensive. The owner took care of her.

Go with a competent mechanic first before concluding if its worth the price. Pictures do not actually say the real condition of a car and most sellers would tell you it was "carefully used" even when what you eventually see is a tired car.

But that price is high unless the car is in pristine condition which i doubt

2008 model. Bought brand new and used for 4years? Weird.

And the price is way too much. How much is the tokunbo sef?

Lies. A 2008 vehicle bought brand new in 2016?

Better go with a mechanic to thoroughly inspect it.

Doesn't add up, 2008 bought brand new means 12yrs but used 4years.

The fact that it was bought brand new or not is not important. What is important is the current state of the car.

I haven’t negotiated yet. That’s just the price on Jiji. I know I can get it for 1.1-1.2 if it’s good

Re: Advice On A Nigerian Used 08 Honda Civic by Bullet01(f): 3:44pm On Mar 01, 2020
The car is clean. But the asking price is a way too high for a used 2008 civic.

Like someone says. It's a low car and not too good for rough road. Not too rugged too when compared to its Toyota counterpart.

A brand new 2008 civic can be bought at any time so it doesn't matter. You can check date of first registration to confirm this. You can even buy a brand new 2008 car in 2020.

OP should just do a thorough checking with a competent mechanic and even be smart while doing this. Some mechanic too are terrible and not reliable when contacted for things like this.

Even this sef.

I prefer it to corolla though but corolla is more expensive here in Nigeria. Average price for a good used one should be 900-1m really.

As stated time and time again by ppl here, that civic is too expensive for that price.
Though its a lovely car. Much finer interior compared to the corolla/yaris. Very Excellent fuel economy too. However Personally i wouldn't spend more than 800k on that vehicle.
Once U buy it, u loose alot of value. Put it back on d market and see how ppl will price it. If u have 1 million sir pls do try n get a clean corolla. Dey hold more value better than that civic. Except if u dey fear thief sha o.
Bt even at 1 million, that vehicle is too expensive.
Same model was advertised recently in auto section for abt 700k or so. Brown color very clean interior. Sold fast tho. Not sure d thread lasted more than 2 days dt it was sold.
Happy decision making

https://www.nairaland.com/5650437/clean-2012-honda-civic-sale

Imagine this is a 2012 model going for 1.6m+ and i believe its still negotiable.
So why would U buy dt 2008 for 1.3m?
Re: Advice On A Nigerian Used 08 Honda Civic by nutripotherbals: 1:45pm On Mar 02, 2020
Nigerian used of that car is 800,000- you can get plenty of them very clean too in Abuja and Lagos.

Do not pay more than N900K for 08 CIVIC used in Nigeria.

Don't do it!

I'm pulled aback with your comment sir, I didn't expect it from you.

Firstly, not everyone buy cars with the thought of resale value, buying a car is not always about the value whenever it's to be disposed. The most important thing is buying what satisfies, what catches one fancy.

Secondly, corolla holds more value? On what premise did you come to that conclusion? How much is the Toks of both cars, then do plus and minus.

Thirdly, same model sold for 700k, Lolsssss, did you see the one going for 700k and have you seen the one in discourse? Do you have the full details of the conditions of both cars to malign one for the other?

There are so many things involved in buying and selling cars... You should know better...

There are used cars far better than toks of good grade. I bet most experts will agree with me on this 100%

Well I said most experts...

And then your expertise is questionable.

What's the ideal rpm for Toyota corolla 2005? Be a man of honor and don't check Google or ask anyone or website.

Let's have fun before going to bed.

I have nothing to prove to you, unless of course you are paying me ...

I am an expert....you are free to hug a transformer if you feel otherwise grin

And you are not...if you are, you will know the ideal rpm for Campione Scania huh

Then juxtapose it with the ideal rpm of Innoson granite

Then remove 1.7 from the sum total of the above while making x the subject of the formula..

The answer you get will give you the ideal rpm you asked about smiley
