You’ll have to be directed to do so..but if you don’t hear from them then you wait..Whatever email you receive later on you respond to it. Plus if your passport wasn’t collected its AP straight but might be called back to drop passport.

Guys I need help. We interviewed for an immigrant visa and got approved. We received a form saying to pay $220 to UCSIS for our green card preferably before entering the US. The thing is we were given a white form after collecting our passports that had A number and DOS no in the upper right corner, but those spaces were left blank. How does one go about paying UCSIS when we dont know our A number or DOS number? Has anyone encountered anything like this? The UCSIS wbesite also states that we are supposed to arrive with a package? We werent given any package?

When you collect your passport, you will see it on your visa stamp.

Wait until you get your Visa. Your Visa has your alien number on it. The green card fee is not an emergency. The USCIS also advices that you pay for your green card only when you have received your Visa. If they still have your passport, that means your Visa has been ISSUED but you have not RECEIVED it. You can pay in Nigeria or pay when u get into the US. You're advised to pay before entering the US to expedite the production of your permanent green card. Take note that your I-551 CBP temporary green card which you're given at the port of entry via CBP stamp has only one year validity. You don't loose your lawful status in the US when it expires however, you will need the permanent card to prove continued residency when required for job or traveling purposes.

Thanks a lot guys. The DOS number and the Alien no where on the top most right corner of the VISA. Checked the visa well and saw it. Paid for the green card. Next step is travel to US. n All the best guys. Feel free to ask questions regarding IR5, which was what the category we applied for! Its been a long journey to getting the visa.

The stories of those that have quickly got their visas despite the ban are impressive. Nevertheless it is not a general experience and it may be wrong to expect a similar experience. I know someone who was interviewed on 26th, given a white paper and told to expect decision within 10 days. She is still waiting and wondering if she has been refused. I don’t think so but we should not base our own expectation on someone else’s experience.

well I still have couple of years before my case will be current. Nevertheless, I believe those they gave white paper will surely get their visa issued.
