Corruption everywhere, even in our schools. I don't support this rubbish at all even if Americans do it that is their business we have to move forward practising politics in schools is not good it is not everything we should copy from the white man.

I LOVE THIS!

The only problem here is the fact that parents got involved in it.

In schools, activities like this takes place. And it has to because whether the kids are aware or not, they live in the world where politics takes place.

growing up we were always chanting "we are the leaders of tomorrow" but we refuse to acknowledge that leaders are not born instead they are made, as if we're just going to wake up tomorrow and see ourselves in leadership positions.

Whether you agree or not, some of those kids are going to be vying for leadership positions tomorrow and what they're taught today will go a long way to determine the kind of leaders they'll become.

Thumbs up to the school for this, because if it's done rightly, it can save our next generation.

But every leader is supposed to be a good follower. Except, if all he/she is going to be doing is to Lord it over people(dictatorship).

We are in computer age. And those against this 'Kids politics' are still living in the 'stone age'. Our kids need to be exposed early enough to Nigeria politics. These kids will learn how to vote their leaders, and understand early enough the consequences of voting bad leaders to power. I wish all primary and secondary schools in Nigeria can emulate this innovation.

That's it.

It's all about struggle,

It's all about competition,

It's all about who leads,

It's all about who is the strongest,

As if anything good has ever come from discrimination. This isn't the kind of education suitable for a sinking world like ours, this is a social sickness.

It is shallowness to think this is fun. Teaching struggle to young minds is not fun at all, it will later reflect in their personalities and perception of life.

Competition is not for the intelligents but the mediocres, it gives birth to aggressiveness and false identity, it creates struggles to appear better while in the actual sense you're trying to be like someone else.

Tell them they don't need to be like anyone, not even dangote.
Tell them they need not compete with anyone to be happy.
Tell them there is nothing like overall winner, that
all winners depend on losers to survive.
Tell them that the strength of the strong depends on the weakness of the weak. Meaning, weakness is a form of strength and vice versa.
Teach them companionship not leadership bullsh*ts.
Teach these kids something different because things are already getting out of hand. We are already consuming ourselves in the name of struggling.

Finally, never measure their strength by the formal educational bullsh*ts printed on papers.

Yes we are in computer age but the mentality of some of you are is that of stone age. You fail to see the danger in parents buying things to induce pupils to vote for their children. The school proprietors also want to benefit from the largesse of some dumb parents.

You can't plant maize and harvest yam.

A school that has already violated urban planning laws will definitely have nothing to offer.

I hope other schools will learn from this ; instead of taking bribes from parents to have their wards chosen as prefect.

I understand you very well. But this will help those kids understand early enough why Nigerians are choosing bad leaders to rule them. The school management is trying to expose them to real Nigeria politics. By the time these children grow up, they would have known that our problem in Nigeria is not the bad leaders, but we the electorates that vote them to power. l love this innovation 100%.

Why should there be a god fatherism in school election.

The best students (academically) should be appointed on merit and if any student wish to attain same position next time will have to improve on their own academic performance.

This will encourage them to read and be more serious. The involvement of their parent is a bad influence on the children.

[You mean you see nothing wrong with a parent buying water dispeners for classes for them to vote their children or you didnt read that part? What do you now call vote buying in todays elerions? [Shaking my head for all of us].if this is done without any form of manipulations, just the pupils doing their oral campaigns within the school but definitely not the way it is reported here!

What is wrong?

You see my problem with most Nigerians, if politics in Nigeria started from this young age, we would av been in a better place now.. At this stage they can be guided and conformed to a liberal ideology of sportsmanship that exists between winner and loser.

Catch them young is the term.

I don't see anything wrong with this. [/quote]

[What voice? When parents are the ones inducing others to vote thier wards with water dispensers?or you didn't read that part, same will happen when they grow to know that election is not about campaigns but buying stuffs and votes for people!

[Every thing is wrong in this arrangement, as parents we shouldn't encourage this, so as a parent if you don't have money to print posters and buy stuff for the school, your child may not be voted, because other parents had used money for campaigns. This is wrong in all remifications!
