CXLVII:Tell me how.[/quote]Thanks for the civil response. You see, the school has done one of the good things we lack as a country by employing/introducing an election-based system to the pupils for them to imbibe the culture of equity & orderliness. This I think, will go a long way in shaping the lives of those kids to become better individuals in the near future. |

richard870:The kids are way too young to be introduced into such. It's outrightly misplaced priorities. They will be voting on friendship lines which will be instilled in them till they grow up. The development will also give them the sense that leadership is about just vying for position with top notch publicity. It does not instill in them the qualities required. The school is just idle. Their much more extra curricular activities that could broaden their minds and dreams. Even in the university and country's elections, same thing plays because of the misguided orientation. Nigerians vote across love, religious and ethnic lines, very few consider what is being brought to the table cis of this false orientation. Why you see a Yahoo boy and Garage tout go into politics and win. |

CXLVII:Stupid shallow statement. Is this not how you raise and identify young generation of future leaders. Our children should learn to understand democracy from a young age. They will learn how to win the heart of the people rather than employing thugs or using money. They will also learn how to be tolerant of opposing views or opponents. If this culture is imparted from a young age, we won't have university students fighting one another over political seat in the student union or our adult politicians employing violent tactics to win votes. Democracy is a culture. You breed leaders, you don't create them and they dont make themselves. |

CXLVII:Please sir, lets not blow this out of proportion. I'm sure you would agree with me that teachers often impose a leader on the pupils which sometimes divide the class and ultimately create enmity among these kids. This is a norm in very sane climes, its just unfortunate that we neglect the little things that count and focus on immaterial that have little of no value. |

ajl:Their is no big picture here. The school is just idle and lack ideas. What do those kids know. They doing more of advertisement with that unwarranted election gibberish. |

Zinpat:Reason you have a chaotic and disorderly society in Nigeria is because no one or institution impart the values on you. You take a 20 or 21-yr old university student or 40-yr old adult to go contest for election without him or her appreciating the values of fair play and electoral system. They will fight or maim to get elected because it's a new to them and its winners take all. I tire o. Nigeria don bad to the point that people no fit reason well again |
| Re: Abuja Pupils Print Banners To Vie For Head Boy, Head Girl (Photos) by CXLVII: 3:27pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
richard870:Yes, you right. I passed through that system. But if we think how that was done, which was based on academic Excellence and punctuality, it created competition and not enemity. Dullards, unpunctual and even average student never make it to be leaders in same system. Get my point. It's a misplaced priority at that age. |

CXLVII:Who raised you? What generation do you belong to? What do you believe in. What group do you belong to among these in a society? The Idiots, the Tribalists or the Citizens. I am already guessing where you belong. We need more Citizens rather than your types. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFPGSUsA0dw |

ajl:You can't make sense. What do you know about school curriculum. Do you think it's just built on ideas of people like you. Why your lots enrol 2 year kids in schools believing they need to start school without considering their mental state. I know your type. Over zealous people who are fascinated by big, void and uuwarranted gibberish |

When they say democracy is a culture, you think you can just take a badly moulded adult to go and contest an election and then put the interest of the larger society above his own personal interests. Good things dont just happen. You have to create the conditions for it to happen. We claim we are practicing democracy and even borrow the American system but we like lieing to ourselves. In America, high school elections is part of the high school culture and activities. https://teens.lovetoknow.com/How_to_Win_a_High_School_Election |

CXLVII:Mr "School Curriculum". At least we can see the outcome of your curriculum. How perfect your curriculum is and how you have been able raise kids who have become responsible citizens in the Nigerian society. How much they have done to build an organized society with respect for order and rule of law. They dont steal from others and they put the interest of the society above personal interests. They dont do yahoo, yahoo. The kids you trained into adulthood using your "School Curriculum" don't kill and maim for political office. I can see how perfect and worthy your "School Curriculum" is. And do you have "Extra Curriculum" too? |

CXLVII:In the ideal world you can't even come close to having a conversation with my type. What is your own mental state if at this age you can't reason beyond some shallow sentiments. Who told you the high school election postions will be open to all students. Its probably only senior students that will be vying for the positions. Mr School Curriculum. |

ajl:Hello, In a sane school anywhere in the world, those kids should still be learning ABC, forming simple words, listening to nursery rhymes, thought basic ethics like love, cleanliness, courage and doing lots of brain building fun activities e.t.c Kids below 10 years! It's never done in any sane school and society. |

Making young children bitter for nothing, angry at each other and showing seeds of discord at a young age. Who won't be envious among them after spending money and losing. Then accusing each other of cheating. Teaching them that he who has more money to spend on ads, banners and petty items will win a contest. Not he who is well-behaved and brilliant. Teaching them that you don't have to be the best fit to win in life. Just get morons to like you. |

The school should be erased from the map or else those kids will loot the country out of map of they grow up. |

Its part of teaching the pupil the electoral process, My daughter's school does the same. The school management actually prints the banner. It is also part of publicity for the school! |
