These are Communities where Igalas are spoken out side Kogi today.

Ebu - Osimili North LGA of Delta state

Inyele /Ifeku island/Ilushi in Esan south east LGA Edo state

Elders came from various states across Nigeria to Idah Kogi state the head quarters of Igala Kingdom to attend and reunite after many centuries of separation. This is the result of his five years Discovery works project to Reconnect the Indigenous Igala across Nigeria and beyond. And do you know what? They are the new Igala.

There was a lecture from the Paramount ruler of the Igala Kingdom His Royal Majesty Agabaidu Ameh Oboni II and it was enlighten and he spoke about the igala kingdom and how igala conquered the Benin empire and many other historical fact of how the igalas outside kogi left Idah as at then called which is in the present day kogi state to where they settled and found new shelter and he spoke of how powerful the Igalas are also how he will be able to show concern of Igala speaking people outside the shores of Kogi state and make every Igalans weather from Kogi or outside Kogi proud to be called Igala and it was indeed an interesting lectures, It was hosted by the Attah Igala HRM Agabaidu Ameh Obo .Igala all over the nation are reunited after over 500 to 1000 years of separation.

You have started with again with your land grabbing activities. Well I took my time to read everything and discovered nobody from Anambra attended the said agenda and propaganda....because we don't have Igalas here.

For that I won't go further.

All these states are Igala territory....

Hello @Revolva

This topic should be on the front page. More people need to know about
Igala history as it relates to the surrounding ethnic groups that border
Igalaland as well. Since 1991 I have been curious about who Igalas
are after reading a magazine called "Roots" where an attempt was made by
the journalist to say that "Igalas are Ibos[sic]" and that it was an Igala man that then
moved to Ile-Ife and all that ill-digested stuff. But the writer of the article who
was Ibo kept on showing similarities between Igala words and Yoruba words
but could NOT show many central Ibo words that were similar to Yoruba words.
I still have the magazine though. I'm also aware that it was the Igalas who introduced
the "red chieftaincy caps" via Nsukka. This culture of wearing red caps was finally
copied and spread to areas in Iboland that did not even have direct contact
with the Igalas who mainly influenced Northern Ibo areas.

First off, an elderly Ebira man actually posted on FaceBook in 2015 that Igalas
evolved from the fusion of"Ebira Koto" and "Akpoto Yoruba."

Second in 2017, the current Attah of Igala said Igala evolved from
a movement of some people from Wukari which is in Taraba State
today who then fused with a group of Yoruba, Edo and to some
extent some Ibo.

He also said Ifa is consulted before a new Attah of Igala is crowned.

"I’m first Attah in Igala history with one wife –Ameh Oboni"

I was surprised while doing more research on Igalas in 2017 that the
part where the Attah of Igala mentioned the Yoruba and Edo bloodlines
in Igala nation was dubiously edited/removed from an official Facebook
page used by Igalas. The Punch article above on the Attah of Igala's interview
was re-posted on that official Facebook page used by Igalas and the person
who did it only left the Jukun influence and I think the military conquest
and cultutral influence the Igala Kingdom had on the Ibo area[Northern Ibo
of Anambra, Enugu axis, etc].

==> https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/500-years-of-igalas-in-enugu.html#:~:text=The%20Igala%20people%20who%20in,Government%20Areas%20of%20Enugu%20State.
"500 years of Igalas in Enugu"

I wonder why anybody would try to hide the truth of what the Attah
said about the Yoruba and Edo influences and bloodlines!
Many Igalas who were on that FB page did NOT even realise that the
article had been edited! It would have been interesting to know what they
all had to say about the Yoruba and Edo connection instead of only talking
about the Jukun connection!

An Attah [Idoko]also invited some people or craftsmen from then North
or Niger State axis who settled in Igalaland and have become Igalanised.

It is not strange that Igala language is 65% to 70% Yoruboid
with influences from Idoma and some other surrounding
linguistic influences. The Ifa corpus is also of Yoruba origin so
there is a Yoruba connection in Igala. Ifa is also practiced among
the Edos[Bini and Esan]. The Esans as we know are of Bini origin but
left Bini to Esanland because of the upheavals in Bini under a great
Oba of Benin.

Even Nri which was influenced by Igalas also has "Afa" oracle
which is consulted before any Eze Nri is coronated! Nris had no
kingship system until the arrival of the Igalas. So Nri could NOT
have been the so-called oldest kingdom in Nigeria when it was Igalas
that introduced the kingship system to them. It was even an Umueri
group that revealed this information about the Igala influence
on the Nri Kingship system in the Vanguard newspaper when there
was a controversy over whether it is Umueri or Aguleri or Nri that
is the cradle of Ibos! The article is still online.

"Egungun" in Yoruba and "Egwugwu" in Igala which refers to the
Egungun masquerade [Egungun means "bone" in Yoruba and
metaphorically means that the dead body/spirit has risen]. Egwugwu is
known and used among the Igala-associated communities of Enugu [Nsukka etc],
Anambra [ Onitsha, Aguleri and co], and Delta North[Illah, Ebu, Okpanam, Asaba]
are some of the words with direct similary with Yorubaland. Ifa as used
or consulted before an Attah is coronated by the King Makers is even
a give away.

Some of the Yoruboid words that some people are saying are used in Ibo
where actually introduced by the Igalas whose bloodlines also run in Anambra,
Enugu and Delta axis such as in Illah where Desmond Olusola Elliot's mother
comes from. Infact a lot of the communities in Delta North have Igala bloodlines
especially in the Oshimili axis. As I said, since 1991 I have been curious about who Igalas
are and they are a very unique people with a great culture.

Eri who was an Igala prince and the son of an Igala King[Achado] but I was
surprised when during the visit of some African-Americans who took DNA
tests linking them to Nigeria and they were taken to Anambra State and
the top Ohaneze leader [Chief Nwodo] was refering to Eri's Origin as being
Jewish from Israel. This is insulting to the intelligence of everyone and it seems some
people want to wipe off Igala history in the South East. DNA tests done by
Ibos especially in the UK the U.S. on AncestryDNA, 23andMe, etc show
CLEARLY that all the Ibos do NOT have ANY Jewish bloodlines or DNA
markers as seen in all the videos online.

Even all the Yorubas who tested with these services do NOT have Hebrew
or Arabian bloodlines as some misinformed people are saying but are
indigenous to mainly West Africa just like the Ibos. No caucasian mixing...
except with reference to those who recently married white women and Asians.

All these things aren't my business.

==> https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/500-years-of-igalas-in-enugu.html#:~:text=The%20Igala%20people%20who%20in,Government%20Areas%20of%20Enugu%20State.

Don't mind that character. He's a Hausa/fulani man who hates Igbos but always claim to be Igbo so as to sow confusion and division to anything that concerns Igbos. He doesn't speak for Igbos. Disregard him.

You have started with again with your land grabbing activities. Well I took my time to read everything and discovered nobody from Anambra attended the said agenda and propaganda....because we don't have Igalas here.

For that I won't go further.

All these states are Igala territory....

Igalas are known land grabbers. They claim Kings from Enugu go to Idah to collect staff of office. Hahahah. Yes in every community there are migrants and Igala is known to be migrating to Igbo territory because Igbos welcome them and are hospitable but they want to take the hospitality for weakness. The people of Ibaji, Ofu, Igalamela and part of Olamaboro have been Igbos before the coming of the migrants from Wakuri who got to idah, met the Igbos, Yorubas and Binis.

Attah Ameh Oboni, said that his speech addressed to Punch on 26/8/2017.

Majority of Igalas today were Igbos

You lack historical sense of reasoning. Onitsha from Bini? Copy and paste has made it easy for you to talk rubbish.

The Igbos of Eri stock have been in Onitsha before the Ezechime's an Igbo man returning from ado ni Idu came to join them. There the Igalas (unification of Igbos, Binis, Yorubas and Migrants from Wakuri) where on the Onitsha side of the Niger fishing. They where all integrated into the bigger Onitsha.

Your Attah, Ameh Oboni speak about this in his speech on punch 26/8/2017 that they are same Igalas outside Kogi state who migrated to places like Nzam, Ebu, And other parts of Igbo lands, but we ask layman like you, did the Igalas met these places empty? Your Attah said the Igbos have been in Idah and those places of Obaji, Ofu, Igalamela before the coming of the migrants from Wakuri. Who are those that migrated from Wakuri? The Idomas came from there, settled in benue, some of them moved along the benue river down to the conference town where they met the Igbo aborigines and other tribes. Till date there are communities like Avrugo, akanpiki, anaocha, Akpanya, and others who do not speak Igala as first language.

Nzam, Unoma and Olumbanasa you Igalas from Idah claim are Igalas are not but have influx of Igala migrants before the war and during the way. Only few people like 30% may identity themselves as having Igala root. I have met many people from Nzam and others who will tell you their ancestors are the aborigines and not settlers from idah Igala who came to live with them.

Igalas are known land grabbers. They systematically migrated to Igbo communities in Obaji, Igalamela, Ofu and others with the sole aim of using the government to claim the area as Igala. During the war the Igbo speaking communities in northern Nigeria had to claim Igala because the were been killed by majorly northern and middle belt soldiers.

You claim that you I'll writer Abdullahi Ayegba hosted United Igala Congress, but the language of communication is English. If Igbos want to hold a United Igbo Congress, all Igboid speakers from Kogi, benue, cross River, river state, delta, Edo and whole of south east will use the central Igbo language which will be well understood at 60-70% by everyone.

Igala of about three to four million people claiming Igbo land? Such delusion. By quoting ayegba abdullahi,a dubious guy who blocks you if you bring up a superior argument shows how weak your points are.
