Coronaviris: UNIZIK Suspends Chinese Course, Lecturers by ZAWs(op): 1:05pm On Mar 09, 2020

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, has suspended a Chinese course in the institution amid fears of a probable spread of the novel Coronavirus.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Charles Esomone, disclosed this during a pre-convocation press conference on Monday.

He said the University had also asked its Chinese lecturers, who travelled for Christmas vacation, not to return to the University while those who were around had been barred from travelling.

The VC said the Chinese course under Confucius Institute of the University would now be run online.

Walahi, this one pass my power.

What is the relationship with learning Mandarin and coronavirus. I can understand not asking lectures who travelled not to return, but do they also know volume of other lectures who might have been to Italy or other badly hit countries.

I get your point, the stigmatization and all. But the Chinese people would have done worse if this virus had originated elsewhere. Didn't you get the news of them barring foreigners from coming into the country for fear that they will bring the virus back in?

The Chinese are one of the worst racists on earth, so no pity from me to them.

They deliberately preserve virus, about 1500 different strain of viruses in WUHAN, where they have a lab for it and someone may have injected it into the air in Wuhan. So here we are today.

I disagree have u ever asked urself if this virus had emanated from Nigeria the way it did in china bros make we live story the discrimanation for be mad one. They wud have used it as an opportunity to deport Nigerians and also ban them from entry any country.
