Why do you think its early?(even though am not calling for celebration anyway)
There must be a reason we are not like others suffering this disease:

Is it incidental or mere coincidence?

Accident or Providence?

Human or divine?

Natural or supernatural?

Genetic or Environmental?

Very simple and very obvious. It is the warm humid weather and hot sun. It has been SCIENTIFICALLY proven that corona (like the flu) does not survive long in WARM humid places. Add to that the immune boosting VITAMIN D from our hot sun and corona doesn’t stand a chance. It is not only Africa or blacks, South America and Caribbean too, any poor place with such conditions, for same reason. See below. (I add “poor” because too much air conditioning and corona will spread indoors, inside hospitals and such!)

Odoctor and Chief Canada sirs, I too have been pondering this mystery, about why Africa has been spared the devastation of Corona Virus mortality, and your very insightful posts have offered enlightened perspective into the possible reasons why Africa, South America and the Caribbean nations remain unscathed, while the rest of this planet is being terrorized and methodically depopulated by this horrible contagion.

Most certainly it MUST be the hot weather, rather than a genetically encoded advantage, that is protecting the African continent, because Africans and even Nigerians already number among the victims and fatalities of the Corona Virus that have been recorded in Europe thus far. I am aware of at least one medical doctor of 100% Nigerian parentage, who recently died from Corona virus infection, in Italy, jut a few days ago, and this suggests that in cold weather, Corona virus can infect and kill ANY human being, with equal likelihood irrespective of racial composition or skin pigmentation.

So, in conclusion, those who complain about the current heat wave in Nigeria and Africa, should count their lucky stars that they reside in Africa, and not in the northern hemisphere where winter weather currently prevails.

Now do you know the big question: How come Africa of all places seems to be the golden hen with the golden egg?

How come Africa, the poverty capital of the World?

How come Africa, the most undeveloped, the third world, the dirtiest, the most backward in medicine and health care… How come the race that has always been victim of all forms of disease and disaster is yet to record a casualty when the “ogas” in civilization and development (China, Italy, Iran, US, UK, N/S Korea, etc) are helpless?

I agree with you. The victims of black race/African origin proves the fact of a non genetic advantage.

Secondly, I also feel that it is being underreported, by major media outlets. Would it have been so if the reverse was the case?

Noted. In fact there is now a latest upadate, that all the worst hit countries are located on Latitude 40degrees - connoting a more geographic input in the spread.
