Bro I would love more input on this because I am considering embarking on the hustle with toyota camry 2015 on a rental. The ride is a 2.4 litres engine, though not a v6.
To be honest it has been doing me double mind considering the fuel consumption but was trying to avoid the tag of supposed lazy man quarrelling with his tools until I saw this question by cheddaz
PROS: ● If you will be driving it yourself, you'd definitely make "some" money [not like the #CorollaGeng though.

●You go light oven tire for the hustle pass Tojahh with such car

●LuxuryDriverNg (Driverprenure) drives a Mercedes and he's still Alive and Hustling

●You'll be hardly stoped by LASTMA n Co, also you wont have the "Na Uber" tag

I use Camry 2006 2.4L engine. So far so good it's all rosy. If kazeem has not edited the car feel free to use it, fuel efficiency shouldn't be a problem but maintenance. Find out how costly the parts are before you sign the dotted line
Thanks for the advice, though it was 2005 camry not 2015.Using it on rental is totally different from the owner using it by himself I suppose, because obviously you are not be on rental. Am concerned in the area of having something left after remitting to the owner his weekly payment.

Hi, my senior colleagues. I got this car for personal use and I'm thinking of using it to hustle on uber whenever I'm less busy.

I'm an engineer.

Many people use it on rental. Try bargaining 25k weekly

Do not use a 2.4L engine for ehailing
Says who? You should know big daddy, camry 2003-2006 are 2.4 litres, except the v6 variant.
And they are all over the roads like corolla. Guys use it too....
Just know your ropes.... Dont do aggressive acceleration. If you are experienced with E-hailing you got no worries.
I use the 2009 camry sport now... Previous car was corolla sport.

Corolla then 2k fuel 7k- 10k (no surge)
Camry now 2k fuel 6k-8500(no surge) (all depends on trip distance, long trips saves more)

And now u can get more surge n offlines.

If you are lucky to have ur O2 sensor and catalyst intact, and do ur regular service... U go dey gain plenty.

They don't expect to inherit from me just as I requested my parents leave their money to charity 20 years ago. This was actually the line that grabbed my attention. You mean all of it? That's a tough 1. I love the courage and spirit. Abeg my middle name na charity oo. grin
radautoworks:

That has no bearing. Have you ever been homeless? Because I have. For the better part of a year. This statement above is exactly why I didn't return to Nigeria until I had accomplished on my own. I didn't want everyone to think I didn't deserve what I had.

All I asked for from my parents was "pay my school fees"... And that's all they did. My parents never spoilt me growing up. All my mates in school didn't even know my family had money and used to show off. It wasn't till my dad and his mates retired everyone realized because the quality of our life improved while all the ones that used to spend money like water lost their homes, etc. That is exactly how I raise my kids. They don't expect to inherit from me just as I requested my parents leave their money to charity 20 years ago.

For over a decade before I returned I did not collect one red cent from my family even when I was homeless. They didn't even hear from me or know where I was except to receive my school results at the end of each semester. I did everything from cleaning to selling electricity door to door to telemarketing. That's why my employees respect me. I can do any of their jobs from the cleaner to the manager (and have when needed).

I get disrespected a lot when I go to places because they think I'm just one small college girl. That's how I find good employees. The ones that treat me well without thinking about who I might be I hire. If anyone of you had every met me in person, was I what you expected? Probably not grin

That being said, if you want to be successful running a business some things are just common sense whether you are rich or poor. Like I said before hopefully she had insurance. If she did, she can rebuild and be more careful. Sucks, but it is what it is. I've incurred losses in the past doing business and it was usually when I tried to cut corners.

I could talk all day about my history and what I have been through. You want to hear the full story, drop by the shop when I return and you will see say that I can understand that woman VERY well.

Also I want to reiterate that I only comment on things I have experience with.

All of it. The only thing being passed down is the ability to go to school for anyone in my line who wants to. That's it. My father and his dad before him felt that was all a parent owed - a good education or trade so they could fend for themselves.

In that respect I was blessed because I know many want to and can't. Also, mind the pennies and the pounds will mind themselves. If my dad sends you somewhere, you better bring his N10 change or you will have some serious queries. The value of N1 compared to N1,000 is the same or else you will find yourself broke without explanation.

Car comes in 2.5ltr and 3.5ltr engines
That's a comparison with the 06 corolla.
Newer cars have become better optimized and more fuel efficient.

Your worry should be cost of maintenance.

Focus on your business instead trying to explain to people how you made it or how you hustled, no matter the story you tell them, they will still think you got it easy.

I just hope you you don't become targets of scammers, beggers and those that think they are entitled to receive free things from you.

This country is not a place where you tell people your background especially when they know your office location, it is dangerous and security wise not good.

As small as I am, I always focus on background check, some people here might be organising a scam, first they create online reputation by claiming what they are not before you know it, they target you, do their scam and varnish.

Dovehorizon:
"Toyota is less cheap to maintain than the Honda"

This statement is not entirely true

Thank God you said not entirely true, neither was my thought finite and conclusive factual.

For some thing not to be entirely true means there is/are some element of truth in it. I understand you are trying to resuce the force in my statement but that doesnt change the fact base on personal experiences that Honda cars are more expensive to maintain when compared to Toyota cars.

Case study:
The bushing of a Honda accord 05 is 3k5h.
Toyota same yr is ranges btw 1k5h to 2k5h

Shocks on accord 7k to 8k
Toyota 4k to 5k

Only to mention a few.

Give some stats from your personal experience lets do the comparison.
