Had to read this comment atleast thrice to understand the other guys reaction as I was shocked when I saw " condescending--self adulation--inappropriate etc". When you brought out his past post then I was relieved. He's one of those clown. How can you be so bitter about someone you probably don't even know? Someone you probably have never met! Might never meet! How? Such an amazing idiot!

That has no bearing. Have you ever been homeless? Because I have. For the better part of a year. This statement above is exactly why I didn't return to Nigeria until I had accomplished on my own. I didn't want everyone to think I didn't deserve what I had.

All I asked for from my parents was "pay my school fees"... And that's all they did. My parents never spoilt me growing up. All my mates in school didn't even know my family had money and used to show off. It wasn't till my dad and his mates retired everyone realized because the quality of our life improved while all the ones that used to spend money like water lost their homes, etc. That is exactly how I raise my kids. They don't expect to inherit from me just as I requested my parents leave their money to charity 20 years ago.

For over a decade before I returned I did not collect one red cent from my family even when I was homeless. They didn't even hear from me or know where I was except to receive my school results at the end of each semester. I did everything from cleaning to selling electricity door to door to telemarketing. That's why my employees respect me. I can do any of their jobs from the cleaner to the manager (and have when needed).

I get disrespected a lot when I go to places because they think I'm just one small college girl. That's how I find good employees. The ones that treat me well without thinking about who I might be I hire. If anyone of you had every met me in person, was I what you expected? Probably not grin

That being said, if you want to be successful running a business some things are just common sense whether you are rich or poor. Like I said before hopefully she had insurance. If she did, she can rebuild and be more careful. Sucks, but it is what it is. I've incurred losses in the past doing business and it was usually when I tried to cut corners.

I could talk all day about my history and what I have been through. You want to hear the full story, drop by the shop when I return and you will see say that I can understand that woman VERY well.

Also I want to reiterate that I only comment on things I have experience with.
Well said mama.

You made a lot of sense in your comment. Nevertheless, still count yourself privilege jor mama no b everybody get rich parents to pay their fee or even send abroad.

Even do you know how many times the name or personality of your father favored and cut edges for you Thats one privilege you have many don't. I'm sure you and other persons with notable surnames can relate.

On the flip side. This mindset your diaspirant has with the white willing out everything you laboured for to charity(ies) I really don't fancy in if suxh charity (ies) is located and own by a Nigerian because most of these CEO to NGOs are scammers reaping innocent people off while their children have the best quality of life abroad with they buying properties all over the place. Funny enough they will their own property to their own biological children. So my own papa... Or, did you know, the popular Bank Anthony left his property to charity, look at his children today most of them are living in abject poverty, the last time I saw one of his daughter you could tell in her countenance she isn't proud of her late father despite all the wealth he had.

The point I'm trying to make is, Nigerians are selfish, greedy and wicked. Be it orphanage home or charity no CEO pot I any charity organisation is worth giving a property because they'll end up willing same property to their own children. If na oyinbo person now fine you can give them your life self I don't care but for a Nigerian? Nbanu!!

Thank God you said not entirely true, neither was my thought finite and conclusive factual.

For some thing not to be entirely true means there is/are some element of truth in it. I understand you are trying to resuce the force in my statement but that doesnt change the fact base on personal experiences that Honda cars are more expensive to maintain when compared to Toyota cars.

Case study:
The bushing of a Honda accord 05 is 3k5h.
Toyota same yr is ranges btw 1k5h to 2k5h

Shocks on accord 7k to 8k
Toyota 4k to 5k

Only to mention a few.

Give some stats from your personal experience lets do the comparison.

Pls where una dey buy coro shocks for 4k to 5k my mechanics says nah 14k for ladipo

When i pick u up at home and drop u at ur office or vice versa i have no problem with u on transfer even if d alert didn't reflect on my app instantly. U can go, i will call u in an hour if i dont see it.
But when i pick u from say a beach or hotel to probably a shopping mall or a market. I must see alert. We all will be patient till it gets in or we go to an atm point.

Some day i picked up a rider from festac to ebutte meta, federal medical center. Then go back to drop d boy friend at ago palace. Fare was 3600.
Boyfriend said it was the babe that will transfer d money. Called babe and she said her battery was low she will send it later.
I just zoomed off. (i know her house, and office. No qualms)

She spoke so soft and looked responsible. I trusted her.
Called in d evening to tell her no alert yet, she said something came up....
Next morning another stroy, next evening another story. At a point she won't pick all my calls.
I sent her a simple message: Please pay my money to avoid my troubles.

She ignored.
3rd day a trip took me to ebutte metta early morning. At around resumption time,
I got there and waited for d yeye girl.

She got down from a tinted corolla, with a straight face, as if she had seen me but trying to pretend. I trailed behind her as she walked into d hospital, i dialed her number to be sure it was her... She somehow, stylishly silenced d phone.

I didn't want to stop her and harass her. I may be wrong, she may not be d person.

I walk to a staff nurse and asked where is d management office, that i wanted to lay a complaint about a staff.

They said SERVICOM department.
I downloaded a fresh true caller app, put in her number.... It showed Dr oyinye. A Doctor! Wow

Told SERVICOM d gist, gave them the name and number, in less than 5 minutes they fished her out. Same girl o.

Took her to one room and start questioning her, through the walls i was hearing stuff like: u cant be complaining low ba3 and poor network for 3 days....

Another staff was busy telling me to hav patient, it will be resolved soon.

They called me to d room she was... In her hand was cash.

They apologized, and equally said it could be network, but that doesn't mean they are supporting her ooo.
She apologized, wit a very drained, pale face.
I pitied her that moment. It was so embarrassing...
Handed me the cash, 4k.
I told her i have change in d car.

Funny girl followed me to d car park, apologized again, for any inconvenience she might have cause.
I actually talked less that day. I said no problem.

Take 500 change i dont have 400.
She said she didn't have 100 to balance too.
Ok you can keep it, i said.

She walked back like d ground should open and swallow her up.
I kind of felt bad for dragging her to this point. But well, she pushed me, trying to be smart.

Make una no vex for my long story... I get time small ni cheesy

Noooooo way! Did you say FMC Ebutte Metta
Pls can you PM her number or did you hear the surname?
Is she slim
Pls I want to know if she really d one that did this rubbish cos I know oyinye in FMC.
But I don't want to believe she's d one.

Please my fellow people. On an average how many km/L will a 2.4L engine run in this ehailing biz. I've always noticed if i buy 3k fuel for my own engagement s, from Okota to Ajah, do a little running around then head back home late at night my tank is almost on empty again .

As long as it's your car, it's okay but if it's HP or Rentals sorry.
you can use 10k fuel to get 35k.

Picked his sister or babe from Isheri Magodo to Alheri hospital at Ojodu, she puked in my car, therefore I can't continue working (I don't even fault her , anybody fit sick and misbehave), trip ended at 900, guy man sent 1k and blocked my line even after explaining to him that he needs to pay for my car clean up.

Make una just encourage am with words as I mentioned earlier, now I have to stop working to clean the car, yet he doesn't see any reason to be courteous enough to do something about it.

All of it. The only thing being passed down is the ability to go to school for anyone in my line who wants to. That's it. My father and his dad before him felt that was all a parent owed - a good education or trade so they could fend for themselves.

In that respect I was blessed because I know many want to and can't. Also, mind the pennies and the pounds will mind themselves. If my dad sends you somewhere, you better bring his N10 change or you will have some serious queries. The value of N1 compared to N1,000 is the same or else you will find yourself broke without explanation.

Still trying to imagine
So a Nigerian African Parent will work all their life and when retire give all money to charity in Nigeria? and you have children and Grand children ? Mayb abroad, Yes.

Well let me stop thinking like a local man.

African daddy will work his Ass of so children don't suffer or start from scratch, he will want to help niece and nephew and whole village if possible.

maybe if they had a good track record. Any one in my line who wants to go to school has their school fees taken care of. Nieces and nephews is on a case by case basis. For my Mom, any girl in the family has their education taken care of. The rest goes to non-family charity.

EDUCATION is the only thing that matters in our family. All my uncle's engineers except the architect. It's pretty much an engineering family but once you graduate OYO be dat. You will find your own job and make your own way. I have two uncles who failed at that task and he just watched till today.

I did acknowledge not everyone is that lucky but don't discount my experience. Just like wasiu I had to feed, house and clothe myself. And don't think the US doesn't come with it's own set of problems. Different from Nigeria but no less difficult. Plus it's hotter in Houston walahi!

My Honda civic 03 trips off most times while on motion, sometimes before it goes off the car will jerk and then goes off or it won't go off but the next thing engine check light check light comes on. This happens like 2-3 times daily.

Some times when I switch off the engine maybe on traffic engine does hard start before it starts.

I carried out a scan on the car and the code within came up.

Changed the camshaft sensor but this code keeps coming up
