Coronavirus: Nigeria Government Must Close Border Now — NMA by fulaniHERDSman(op): 5:00pm On Mar 17, 2020
President, Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Dr. Francis Faduyile, has called on the federal government to close border against countries with high cases of coronavirus.

Speaking in Lagos, Faduyile said that the time has come for the country to close its border against countries with a high level of coronavirus infection.

He noted that if coronavirus gets loose in the country, Nigeria will suffer for it, “the time has come for us as a country to take decisive action. I can tell you, if coronavirus gets loose in this country, the whole of Nigeria will suffer for it.

"The view of Nigeria Medical Association is that it’s high time the Nigeria government take that decision of closing the border against those countries with a high level of coronavirus infection.”

when i read earlier about a junior minister of health saying Chinese, Italians and co are still welcomed to Nigeria, i nearly wept. I already know Buhari is a clueless, dumb and irresponsible president but i never knew he's mad as well. even EU has already shut down their borders and Nigerian leaders are speaking dust. is this an inferiority complex problem or what exactly?

Why can't this Government close down our airports, Land boarders, sea ports for now till further notice.

We close our door on rice importations and open it to Corona Virus. It is not right.

This virus is far more than what we can manage in Nigeria.

Well, the politicians who are the major users of the border should go now. Nigerians are willing to contribute to their trips if they have exhausted the national purse.

None of the politicians want to travel again nii.
How can a whole country with poor medical facility refuse to close thier border in this crisis amazes me?

It shows the country is run by incompetent fools.
It's high time we begin to take laws in our hands.

Until one top government official catches Corona, they won't close our borders... If, God forbid, the virus spreads in Nigeria, where is the good healthcare system to control it?

God is helping us curb it but Buhari's reckless government officials are forming King Kong...

They forgot that even the Ebola that was controlled was brought in by a diplomat and Dr. Adadevoh and her medical staff paid the ultimate price. No be say we get any power, na just grace of God.
