If they close down border, how are you going to survive, many essential things for our survival are imported

If they close down border, companies can go bankrupt and workers laid off
is better to go bankrupt than to die.. be sensible

Cuntface:
When most Nigerian doctors are on strike and our border is as open as retired porn star's kitten

If not God, there's no way anyone will survive the disaster in this country. We have one of the most useless set of leaders in the world.

If they open border we will still go bankrupt and die

The only stuff, govt can do is to open border and put preventive measures.

Many companies in Nigeria depend on imported finished goods to survive.

Don't forget, they also employ people.

Bankruptcy will bring lot of panic even death

People jobs will be in jeopardy

They won't be able to provide for their families leading to mass panic which the govt is trying to avoid.

This is enlightening, it turned out that virus is not likely going to kill as much as people expected.

About 80% of victims survived it all over the world.

We dont import through air but through the seaports. Our airspace should be closed because we dont have the capacity to handle a Corona epidemic.

Covid 19.

I hope this myth about the virus not surviving in hot weather conditions is true!

all the virus needs is to enter your blood stream and it will survive

So has Ghana gone bankrupt?

Ghana is not a big country like ours.

It is easy to manage ghana economy that than of nigeria.

Oil price is down, our revenue has been cut short.

Nigeria naira is going for a devaluation soon

We might be entering a recession soon

Govt is doing everything possible to make sure nigeria do not go broke.

One thing you don't understand is
If we go bankrupt, govt and private companies will not be able to pay salaries, if they can't pay salaries, no food on the table for many people, many people might starve, that is death too.

The countries that has been shut down do not depend on oil and do not have an import dorminated economy like nigeria.

Close down Nigeria and see people not been able to feed their families again.

My dear, I don't think so, remember, what we are agitating for is border closure, not complete restriction of movement... Now, if that is not urgently adhered to, it will get to a time that closing the border won't just be the solution, rather a complete restriction of movement... I pray we don't get to that

Washing hands with soap is more effective than hand sanitizer.

Most countries will enter recession after this.
Infact, the worst recession ever will hit the world.

Necessity is the mother of invention.
More than half of the things imported in Nigerian can be sourced locally easily.

They can share their knowledge and order for goods through the internet (eg skype and alibaba). They dont have to be here physically. The world has gone digital.

The suppliers also have email addresses and contacts to reach them. Most business men dont travel frequently to order goods (its only done in the initial phase). Once they have a business relationship and trust with the supplier, business can be done online without being physically present.
