Are you sure? I just bought fuel while going home now and it was still N145. When will it finally be adjusted nationwide?

He hasn't.

Infact, both APC and PDP by setting the price instead of allowing marketers set the price have shown they don't know economics.

The best decision now is to completely remove subsidy. So long as government sets prices there is a subsidy

you are the one that dont know economics... why will u allow marketer to fix price of a common product petrol ...something the marketers can just sit down on a round table and increase price at will at the shortest notice ....

Because if you let marketers control the price, the economics of competition will bring it down.

Plus, if you bought shoes at 8000 a pair and you wanted to sell them at 10000 a pair, and government intervened and said you should sell it at 4000 a pair while they pay you a subsidy of 2000 naira for every pair sold, would you agree?

Because you would lose 1000-3000 naira per pair, and you won't have any profit to invest in new shoes, new shops, etc

Because that is how a subsidy works. And that is why we don't have new refineries and why NNPC cannot repair old ones, and a big part of why smuggling takes place, why we are going into debt and so on
