Father: Kanu
Mother: Amarachi
Son: Sean? WTF! angry angry

What and where in the world did he get that sort of name or is the mother Irish?
I was expecting a name like Emeka, Chukwudi, Nonso, Nnamdi, etc

Sean Nwankwo? Sounds like some adopted child, e nor rhyme. at all.

Hmmm... most times I pity the almajiris, those children are victims of bad policies & rash leadership.

The dirtiest & ugliest almaijiri known to you might be the most sensational 15 year old footballer in world football provided he got priviledged to be nurtured like Sean Nwankwo.

Kanu Nwankwo's elder brother played for a top Nigerian team in the 80s.
His is Monday Kanu, he played Bendel United of Benin, along with Ben Itoha and they reached the CAF Cup final but lost in 1989.
Nwankwo Kanu used to come Benin back then to visit and train with his big brother.

Are you aware that most Nigerian footballers were not academically bright in school?
They enjoyed playing outdoors hence, they put all their energy on what they loved and good at.
Classrooms was boring to them, only a few like Peter Rufai(who after playing from 1980 to 88, went back to school in Spain in early 90s before returning to Super Eagles in 1993-98, Segun Odegbami(Engr), Patrick Ekeji(Administration...), Adokie Amesiamaka(lawyer and later a judge) on the most successful team of the 70/80s and recently the likes of Seyi Olofinjana who has masters in Engendering and now a coach in England.

Knuckle down and work hard boy. That's the best way. In football or sports, your fathers name won't make way for you particularly overseas. Ask the Beckams, Maradonas and Peles of this world.
What do you know? Your father's name will provide opportunities for you world over. Harry Redknapp is Lampard's uncle.

Busquet's dad played for Barcelona.

Faiq Bolkiah is the richest footballer in the world, he plays for the Leicester City reserve, his dad is the king of Brunei.

They're several other examples out there.
