6. 2 days ago, 6,000 people were infected in the US, but today, they have over 11,000, how come Trumps many speeches failed to stop deaths and thousands of more infections in less than 2 days?

Coronavirus: WHO commends FG’s effort on response

Dr Clement Peter, the Officer-in-Charge of World Health Organisation (WHO) in Nigeria, has commended Federal Government’s efforts “to the timely response to the first case of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) in the country.

Peter gave the commendation at a news conference for an update on the disease, organised by the Federal Ministry of Health on Friday in Abuja.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, had earlier on Friday confirmed that an Italian citizen working in Nigeria and returned from Milan, Italy, to Lagos, Nigeria, on Feb. 25, 2020, tested positive to the virus.

The WHO officer said “it is commendable that Nigeria speedily detected the case and is addressing the matter in Lagos.

“We have been working with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to provide support on how to control spread.
