Yes it can. Facebook would just ask you for a valid means of identification.

Note that immediately you report the account being hacked, Facebook locks the account immediately and requests your ID. Once this is confirmed, a password recovery link would be sent to the email you used to open the account!

I don't think so, because mine was hacked by January this year. I tried all I could including reporting to Facebook, but up till now, nothing has been done by Facebook. The hacker changed my email and phone number. I don't even have access to my Facebook account again. So, I had to open another account. Even while I was opening another Facebook account with the same name that I used in my former Facebook account, I could not be allowed to do so. Each time I try, Facebook will require me to upload my picture, when I upload my picture, that is the end. I can not proceed further. So, I had to use a different name entirely before I was able to open another account

Should I ever loose access to my Facebook account, Facebook will ask me to tell them to give them the codes they will get from Facebook. Voila... Am back. Activate it today! The special is that Old FB accounts don’t usually get blocked easily in the sense that they’ve been registered when Fb haven’t start some of their verification/securities!

The why is that the old accounts are the most suitable accounts to spam on Fb. Hence spammers are the major investors

Once u deployed 2FA...hmmm is a no go area. Keep ur code keys offline(jotter)securely, otherwise u may be as well locked out one day as a result of negligence

Once the email or phone number linked to the account has been changed, forget it, it’s gone for good. If you report to Facebook, they will tel you to put your email address so they send you a recovery link and once you do that, they will tell you that your email address is not associated with any account. This is because the hacker has your changed your email address to his own.

It is very possible, I've recovered mine before. All you need to do is go through forgot password and answer those security questions you opened your account with (like your pet name, mother's maiden name etc) and some other personal question. Facebook will log that fake email out and take you back to the previous email with a suggestion to input a new stronger password.

To the OP, you can only recover your hacked facebook account if and only if, you were wise or knowledgeable enough to have set your 3 to 5 trusted friends whom you can contact to recover your facebook account, anytime you find out you can no longer log into your account.

Facebook will send the recovery link to those guys and they will now provide the link to you to help you log in and make the necessary changes.

If you haven't done something like that earlier, I think it is going to be a very difficult task for you to recover your facebook account again.

There was a time I tried to help a friend recover her account.

It was hell.

It proved unsuccessful.

So, for those of us who have not bothered to set the "trusted friends" recovery thing on facebook, I think it's better you do it now to secure your account.

Just log into your facebook account.

Go to Settings.

Then go to Security and Login.

You will see the Choose 3 to 5 friends to contact if you get locked out link.

Click on it and fill in the necessary details.

That's all.

You have secured your facebook from all hackers!!!

Anytime they hack you and log you out, you can then easily contact your friends and recover your account.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

my own the moment you hack it gbam it automatically lock I don't click on links on Facebook , I can't log in to my Facebook with another device apart from this my phone

Same thing happened to my own. I recovered it within 24hrs, but the hacker went ahead to report to facebook that am impersonating the account. Which made fb to deactivate my account. I did everything fb asked me to do, up till now the account is deleted from facebook.
